Jeff Goldblum recently opened up about making the switch to vegetarianism after playing the Wizard of Oz in Jon M. Chu’s eagerly awaited sequel, Wicked: For Good.

In a conversation on “This Morning,” Goldblum shared his excitement about taking on such an important character at the age of 73. He revealed that the film’s focus on animal cruelty prompted him to stop eating meat.

He remarked, “It’s not often you get to do this over time and find roles that keep you hungry and engaged at this stage in your life. Working with Jon Chu was an incredible experience. After filming, we discussed the themes of animal welfare, and it really impacted me. I used to eat meat and poultry, but that just changed.”

Jeff underscored the need for compassionate co-existence on our planet, highlighting, “We need a world that serves everyone — all earthlings and creatures alike.”

Following his intriguing take on Oz’s enigmatic ruler in the upcoming Wicked: For Good slated for release on November 21, Goldblum will continue to embody this role alongside stars like Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, with Michelle Yeoh portraying Madame Morrible.

The first installment of Wicked was a massive success, earning 10 Academy Award nominations last year and winning two Oscars for best costume design and best production design.

As for the next part, Wicked: For Good is anticipated to bag another round of nominations, including best actress and best supporting actress for Grande and Erivo, respectively. If they both receive nods, they would make history as the seventh and eighth actors to achieve double nominations for the same role at the Oscars.
