Big news from the world of spooks! Comedian Matt Rife and YouTuber Elton Castee have snagged the house that’s home to the infamous Annabelle doll.

This eerie place is located in Monroe, Connecticut, and is a well-known site for horror fans, especially those into The Conjuring series. Rife shared his exciting integration into this paranormal scene on Instagram, calling it an “insane announcement.”

“I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve purchased the home and Occult Museum that belonged to Ed and Lorraine Warren, which includes being the legal guardian of the entire haunted collection—including THE ANNABELLE DOLL—for the next five years, together with my good friend, @eltoncastee!!” he posted. “If you know me, you know I’m totally hooked on the paranormal and everything spooky!”

Rife acknowledged his deep appreciation for the Warren family, stating, “These legends have made demonology and the paranormal super mainstream, and I couldn’t be more honored to take over a site as historic as this.” He didn’t forget to mention his love for the Conjuring series, too.

Looking ahead, he revealed plans to turn the house into a spot for people to explore ghost stories firsthand, saying, “We’re going to offer overnight stays and tours of the museum. Get ready to dive into the haunted history that surrounds this amazing place!”

However, while many fans were excited by this update, there were some unnerved responses, especially considering the recent death of the doll’s handler. One commenter highlighted a grim fact: “Didn’t someone just die while taking that Annabelle doll on tour?”

Indeed, Dan Rivera, who passed away at 54, died just recently while on tour with the doll. As reported by Pennsylvania State Police, Rivera was discovered unresponsive in his hotel room, with no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Before this change of ownership, Annabelle the doll will be making stops in various locations. Her upcoming appearances include events in Augusta, Maine on September 6 and 7, Rock Island, Illinois on October 4, and ScareFest Weekend in Lexington, Kentucky, from October 17 to 19. These tours follow some unsettling rumors earlier in May about Annabelle allegedly going missing during a tour in Louisiana, which Rivera debunked with a TikTok video.

“I’m currently at the museum, and just wanted to show you all that Annabelle is right here!” Rivera stated in a clip, walking into the museum to showcase the doll in her wooden case.

Annabelle first startled audiences in The Conjuring back in 2013, subsequently starring in her own spinoff films, including Annabelle in 2014, Annabelle: Creation in 2017, and Annabelle Comes Home in 2019.
