Bad Company has made it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but their iconic frontman Paul Rodgers was sadly not in attendance.

On November 3, he revealed that, unfortunately, he wouldn’t be able to attend the ceremony because of undisclosed health problems. This would have been the first time he rejoined the band for a performance since 2019.

In his video statement, he expressed, “I really hoped to make it to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony and perform for everyone, but right now, my health has to be my priority. I can still sing without a problem, but all the stress is a bit much. I appreciate your understanding. Simon [Kirke] and a group of fantastic musicians will fill in for me, so it’s guaranteed to rock!”

During the induction ceremony, the band belted out “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” with Bryan Adams stepping in to take over lead vocals. Afterward, they showed their love for Paul with a shout-out: “We love you, Paul!”

Following the performance, drummer Simon Kirke honored both Paul and the late guitarist Mick Ralphs, who passed away in June after suffering a stroke a few years back. He also thanked their families, including Mick’s wife Susie Chavasse and Cynthia Rodgers, for caring for the band members through their health challenges.

Wrapping up his remarks, Kirke introduced Paul Rodgers, who provided fans a touching pre-recorded message.

“I remember sitting in school looking at the chemical factory and shipyards. My teacher, Mr. Garrity, said, ‘Look out there, that is where your future lies.’ Back then, I listened to a Little Richard song at a dance, and it felt like fireworks in my head—right then and there, I knew I had to follow that music path,” he said, reflecting on his beginnings in Middlesbrough, England.

In his heartfelt address, he shared his emotions about this significant moment of being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside Bad Company and acknowledged their unique band members like Mick Ralphs and Boz Burrell. Paul dedicated the honor to their supporters and the musical legends who inspired them, such as Otis Redding, Muddy Waters, and Aretha Franklin. He didn’t stop there—he thanked all the managers, crew, and staff who have helped them throughout their journey.

In a moving conclusion, Paul expressed gratitude toward his family, highlighting his wife Cynthia, whom he has been with since 2007. “For nearly thirty years, I’ve been incredibly blessed to have Cynthia by my side. She truly is my heart,” he highlighted. He shared his thoughts by quoting from Desiderata: “You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars… Therefore, be at peace! It’s a beautiful world, and I hope we all choose love. Thank you!”

The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will premiere on Disney+ on November 8 at 8 p.m. EST, with additional coverage from ABC airing on January 1, 2026, available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
