Could there be a thaw in the relationship between Prince Harry and King Charles III? Time will reveal that, but their recent meeting appears to be a step in the right direction.
Harry caught up with his dad during his trip to the U.K., sharing his thoughts on their surprise reunion at a recent Invictus Games event in London. Founded by Harry in 2014, the Invictus Games are all about honoring brave servicemen and women who have faced injuries or illnesses while serving armed forces.
The Duke of Sussex made his way to Charles’ London pad on Wednesday, September 10, marking their first face-to-face meeting in 19 months—and potentially paving the way towards mending their very public rift.

When a journalist asked him about Charles after their meeting, Harry replied simply, “Yes, he’s great. Thank you.”
Last time Harry had encountered his father was back in February 2024, just after Charles, aged 76, made headlines due to his treatment for an unspecified type of cancer.
Since making the move to California in 2020 with his wife, Duchess Meghan, Harry hasn’t held back in expressing his critiques about the royal family via interviews, documentaries, and his book, “Spare.”
Notably, Harry has shared some thinly veiled criticisms aimed at both Charles and his brother, Prince William, culminating in a significant fracture in his familial bonds.
Harry’s Desire for Family Healing
After recently losing a court battle over security concerns with the British government, Harry stated in May that he remains hopeful about repairing his family ties despite previously recorded emotional struggles.
He expressed, “Some family members may never forgive me for taking the step of writing a book. There are indeed unresolved issues between us. Yet, I’d genuinely like to find reconciliation with my family… Holding this grudge benefits no one. Life is too valuable for conflict.” This was revealed in an interview with BBC.
Harry continued, “I’m uncertain how much longer my father might be around. He avoids speaking with me due to security matters, but I would cherish the opportunity to reconcile.”
