While the action inside the 2025 Men’s WarGames was intense, an unexpected outside attack turned the tide in a critical moment. A masked figure, clad in a black hoodie, climbed the WarGames cage and took a direct shot at CM Punk with a superkick followed by a curb stomp. Although this move is famously associated with Seth Rollins, recent information points to a different culprit behind the mask, hailing from the “WWE Raw” roster.

As per Fightful Select, WWE insiders have allegedly identified the masked man as Austin Theory, a former WWE United States Champion. The last time fans witnessed Theory in action was during the “WWE Main Event” taping on July 14, which later aired on July 19, when he lost to El Grande Americano. Shortly after, his partner, Grayson Waller, confirmed that they had quietly split due to an undisclosed injury that Theory was nursing at the time. Consequently, WWE placed him on the injury list alongside others like Zoey Stark and Ilja Dragunov.

October saw Theory’s name pop back up when rumors circulated about him being a potential participant in the 2025 Men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series, specifically as a helper to Seth Rollins and his crew, which includes Bron Breakker and Brock Lesnar. However, following a shoulder injury from WWE Crown Jewel, Rollins was sidelined, creating some disruption to storyline progress. Despite this, numerous WWE officers reportedly kept advocating for Theory’s impactful comeback.

After the unexpected entrance of the masked figure in WarGames, Breakker managed to spear Punk and secure the pin, resulting in victory alongside Reed, Lesnar, Logan Paul, and Drew McIntyre. Celebrating their win, this group raised their arms high with Paul Heyman, just as old conflicts between Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns reignited in the ring.
