Estimated read time 5 min read

The Twins Days is back, running from August 1-3, and this year’s catchphrase is “Cheers to 50 Years,” celebrating nearly five decades of festivities.

Festival-goers are encouraged to dive into nostalgia by dressing up according to previous themes. From swinging ’60s outfits to vibrant circus getups or caped superheroes, the vibe promises to be lively. For the complete inventory of past themes, you can visit this link.

Expect annual favorites like the iconic Double Take Parade, along with a friendly 5K run, a charming golf outing, and exciting corn hole competitions. Plus, there’s something new this time—a gameshow for twins!

The main events will take place at Glen Chamberlain Park, located at 10260 Ravenna Rd. in Twinsburg.

Honoring a Cherished Committee Member

Those wishing to pay tribute to Sandy Miller—a beloved board member involved in Twins Days since it began in 1976—can do so with a memorial board set up at the Information and Souvenir tent on August 2 and 3. Attendees are invited to bring a short message or photo in her memory.

Sandy left us at the age of 82 in May.

Test Your Twin Knowledge with Twin-Sync!

On August 2, festival participants will have a chance to take part in Twin-Sync, the brand-new gameshow where twins can exhibit how well they know each other. Six pairs will be picked to compete in two entertaining rounds.

To join the fun, you must be a registered attendee aged 14 or older. Make sure to sign up starting from 4:30 PM at the Stage 1 Midway tent.

The games involve a two-round format where one twin answers questions while the other tries to guess right. After this round, they’ll switch roles. In the final round, twins pose to see if they match in style!

Winning pairs will walk away with $25 gift vouchers to spend at the Souvenir Tent.

Double Take Parade Awaits!

This year’s festival kicks off with the highly anticipated Double Take Parade on August 2 at 9 AM. Expect a colorful display of creative costumes, lively musicians, and elaborate floats parading through Twinsburg’s main street, from the square to the festival’s heart at Glen Chamberlain Park.

There won’t be a new Royal Court announced for 2025 but instead, the festival will honor all past Royal Courts and Grand Marshals in recognition of its fabulous 50-year journey.

5K Fun Run Supporting Empower Sports

On August 3, lace up for the Twins Days 5K Fun Run & Walk at Dodge Intermediate School, right across from the festival! This event focuses on health and fitness while raising funds for a great cause.

Entrance fees will support Empower Sports, a nonprofit offering activity programs for individuals with assorted physical and cognitive challenges. Don’t miss the Children’s Fun Run—about a quarter of a mile round the track—starting around 9:30 AM.

Awards await the top three finishers overall, and the leading runners in each age category too!

Starting from 7:15 AM, you can register at the pavilion near Center Valley Park. The race kicks off at 8:30 AM, and walkers are welcome too.

Cornhole Tournament for a Good Cause

Join the Twins Days Cornhole Tournament on August 2, open to everyone aged 14 and older. A kid-friendly division even accommodates children aged 5-13, with registrations on a first-come, first-served basis.

Proceeds from this tournament will benefit the Twinsburg Vocal Music Boosters.

Registration starts at 10 AM at the lower tennis courts, just behind the Souvenir Tent. Sign up early as spots fill up quickly! The entry fee is $20 per team, following American Cornhole Organization rules—a single-elimination format applies, with prizes awarded to winners!

Twinless Twin Community Connections

Special gatherings take place at the pavilion, meant for those who have lost a twin:

  • Twinless Twin Meet-n-Greet from noon onwards on August 2 and 3, offering a safe space for connection.
  • A Luminary Lighting Ceremony set for the evening of August 2, where you can dedicate a luminary in remembrance of your twin. Gather for the lighting at approximately 9:15 PM after signing up at the information tent on the midway.
  • A memorial photo board is hosted for twinless twins to share a photo or note dedicated to their twin.

A Quick History of Twins Days

It all started in 1976 when a few locals got together while planning Twinsburg’s contribution to the bicentennial celebration. They decided to set aside a day solely for celebrating twins, marking the inception of Twins Days with a flag-raising accompanied by Wilcox Monument’s dedication.

The following year, they organized the second festival, which was then just a one-day event featuring food booths from local service organizations, a talent show, and parades for the kiddos.

Over the years, Twins Days has grown, hosting over 84,182 sets of twins. It’s even set Guinness World Records for being the largest annual gathering of twins globally, with notable events like a 2020 virtual celebration, themed “Apart We’re 2gether” due to the pandemic restrictions.

The festival consistently takes place on the first full weekend of August.
