Anita Dongre has taken a big step by opening her luxurious boutique, which spans 3,000 square feet, at 8614 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills. This marks a significant moment for her brand as it reaches the West Coast.

Based in Navi Mumbai, Anita’s label is among the top names in Indian fashion, offering everything from couture to ready-to-wear, menswear, and exquisite jewelry. Her designs beautifully merge India’s rich crafting heritage with modern styles, attracting celebrities like Kate Middleton, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

This new Beverly Hills location is Dongre’s second store in the U.S., following her flagship shop in SoHo, New York, which opened in 2018. It’s definitely a great time for her brand, considering it’s her 13th store worldwide.

“It was a natural evolution of the brand,” she shared about her move to the West Coast. “Being in Beverly Hills really feels special. It feels just right.”

The boutique was creatively crafted by MAD Architects, showcasing a stunning facade enveloped in vibrant greenery. This aligns perfectly with Dongre’s dedication to sustainable fashion. Once inside, visitors will appreciate an intimate, artistic atmosphere filled with unique hand-painted panels, embroidered textiles, and artisan carpets.

According to Dongre, “Every corner of the store tells a story of craftsmanship.” The heart of the boutique features two delightful sculptures: “a matriarch and her calf” — lantana elephants made by skilled women artisans from South India, showcasing their talent using an invasive plant.

Incorporating eco-friendly textiles such as Tencel, Bemberg, and organic cotton into her designs, Dongre’s commitment to sustainability has earned her the Butterfly Mark from The Naraai Project. This recognition highlights her focus on ethical sourcing, energy efficiency, and circular design. Her design operations also take place in a building designed to lower the company’s carbon footprint.

At the core of her philosophy is women’s empowerment. “I really believe in bringing jobs back to villages in India. When I empower women economically, I’m helping families stay united,” she explained.

Dongre collaborates with many artisans across India, from skilled embroiderers to block printers, producing designs that offer a balance of femininity, comfort, and functionality.

“I strive to create pieces that will remain in your wardrobe for a lifetime,” said Dongre. “It brings me immense joy when I meet women who have passed their garments down to their daughters.”
