Amidst exciting brand campaigns alongside her mother Gwyneth Paltrow and carving out her niche in the fashion industry, Apple Martin is on a quest for a glimpse of the average college life.
The 21-year-old, currently studying at Vanderbilt University, shared her experiences as the new brand ambassador for Self-Portrait in a candid chat with The Daily Telegraph. She opened up about the unique challenges of her upbringing, often browsing through the vast collection in her mother’s closet.
Expressing her gratitude, she remarked, “I constantly remind myself how lucky I am. I get it; my childhood wasn’t typical. Yet, my parents have instilled in me a strong sense of independence. It’s essential to work hard and not feel entitled to things just because of who I am.”
The 5-foot-10 aspiring fashionista, majoring in law, history, and society, enjoys unwinding by strumming her guitar and binge-watching reality shows with her friends during her free time.
She revealed how inspired she is by Paltrow’s past fashion moments: “I was always looking forward to seeing what she chose to wear for outings or events. I still find myself scrolling through Pinterest, admiring her red carpet looks from the ‘90s,” Apple shared.
Not only is she inspired by her mother, but she also gets the chance to delve into Paltrow’s wardrobe to recreate some iconic styles. “My mom has kept loads of clothes. Some don’t fit, but the ones that do – I just take them. Recently, I nabbed a gorgeous Prada bowling bag; it’s fantastic for traveling since it holds so much,” she said with excitement.
Despite coming from a famous family, Martin isn’t often spotted out publicly with her parents, including her dad Chris Martin from Coldplay. Their family was seen together on one special occasion at Apple’s debut at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris last year, which was a stunning event.
Her family, including grandmother Blythe Danner and brother Moses, were also part of that proud moment.
