Fashion and home decor often mirror each other, discovering inspiration and trending concepts through overlap. For celebrity stylist Molly Dickson, this is an integral principle—what shapes our personal style from the clothes we wear can also spill over into how we curate our living spaces. Be it through color schemes, patterns, or the balance between comfort and flair, each detail tells a story, reflecting a unique sense of style in both wardrobes and interiors.
Many know Dickson’s fashion expertise, whether it’s through dressing icons like Bella Hadid or Kaia Gerber. Her creative touch has graced many red carpets, from the Cannes Film Festival to Lana Del Rey’s recent performance in Iowa. Now, in an exciting collaboration with CB2, she has infused her artistic vision into her new Los Angeles residence, proving that her excellent taste extends beyond fashion.
“In my personal style, comfort is key, and the same goes for my home. I wanted everything to feel chill but still well-thought-out, as if it evolved organically,” she explains to ELLE Decor.
This mid-century modern space feels refreshingly airy. Dickson reveals how she “drifted toward a neutral base,” which allows for opportunities to introduce soft, vibrant colors, enhancing warmth and visual appeal throughout.
With a hectic and “unpredictable” work schedule as a stylist, Dickson cherishes tranquility in her home, seamlessly blending her inherent style with natural materials and inviting textiles.
“I really enjoy playing with different textures. Almost like in fashion, it’s those little details that bring a room to life and make it engaging,” shares Dickson. She features a vintage-inspired wooden dining table with fluted edges, paired beautifully with bouclé chairs, showcasing contrasts in textures and forms.
The patio serves as a focal point, easily accessed from the living and dining rooms, transforming the home’s versatility. As a longtime New Yorker, Dickson relishes her outdoor space, where she often hosts gatherings or simply enjoys a refreshing breeze. This design elements blurs the border between indoor and outdoor living, creating a seamless venue for entertaining friends.
Reflecting her passion for quality and comfort, Dickson’s bedroom spotlights a 1970s vintage-inspired leather daybed—one of her prized possessions. “It’s a timeless piece that fits wonderfully in both my bedroom and my workspace,” she comments. “Its cowhide finish introduces warmth, and I’m excited to see how it ages beautifully over time.”
