Nicol Kidman is really embracing the whole “citizen of the world” vibe. The Academy Award-winning actress has homes in both her hometown of Australia and the U.S., and she’s always jetting off for her acting gigs or touring with her husband, Keith Urban. But now, Kidman seems ready to plant some roots in a new country — she’s recently applied for residency in Portugal, proving our suspicions right; Portugal really is THE place to be!
As reported by the local media source SIC Noticias, the Holland star took the plunge and submitted her documents to Portugal’s Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum not long ago. Recently, she was spotted hanging out in Cascais, a gorgeous resort town near Lisbon that’s often d the Portuguese Riviera. According to the New York Post, it looks like Kidman and Urban are also on the hunt for a new home in Portugal, possibly eyeing a fancy 722-acre resort called Costaterra Golf and Ocean Club, located about 80 miles south of Lisbon.
Costaterra Golf and Ocean Club is quite a hotspot, and many celebrities enjoy the “laidback luxury” lifestyle along the Portuguese coast. Residents include Sharon Stone, George Clooney, Paris Hilton, Princes Eugenie, and even Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who reportedly bought a place there last year.
Even though Keith Urban didn’t sign the residency application yet, a source close to them told the New York Post that he’s just busy with his U.S. tour. Apparently, it was crucial for applicants to be physically present for the application, so he couldn’t make it to Portugal this time. But he’s set to apply later when it fits back into his tour agenda. While Nicole and Keith do have a house in Portugal, they’ll mainly call Nashville home.
They’ve already got properties in Lisbon, but it looks like they’re ambitious to expand their real estate adventures. This could be an exciting treat for their daughters, 17-year-old Sunday Rose and 15-year-old Faith Margaret.
Apart from their homes in Portugal and Nashville, the couple has a cozy apartment in New South Wales, Australia, a duplex in Sydney, a pad in the Hollywood Hills, and two luxury apartments in Manhattan.
Now, if only Kidman could add a beautiful seaside spot in Portugal to her collection, she’d be living the dream!
