Rio and Kate Ferdinand are starting anew after packing up and moving to the sunny shores of Dubai.
On a recent Instagram post, the couple gave a sneak peek of their stunning £6.5 million mansion located in the exclusive Al Barari community. This spacious residence features seven bedrooms, a family pool, a rooftop terrace with breathtaking coastal views, and even a home cinema!
Excitedly sharing their journey, Rio and Kate posted together: “We’ve talked about this for so long and now that it’s finally happening… we’re here, building a new home in the place where it all began!” They also expressed some mixed emotions, noting, “We’re already missing some things and feeling a mix of nerves and excitement, but overall, we’re ready for these fresh starts and new adventures.”
In their new space, the couple showcased their beautiful open-plan living and dining area. The decor featured a light and airy color scheme, complete with a comfortable U-shaped sofa, a chic cream table and chairs, and an eye-catching light fixture.
Describing their outdoor haven, they also revealed a white-paved garden leading to a large pool equipped with sun loungers—perfect for soaking up the sun.
Dubai is significant to Rio, 46, and Kate, 34, as it’s where they first connected back in 2016. After being introduced through mutual friends, they confirmed their romantic relationship in 2017 and later tied the knot at the luxurious D Maris Bay hotel in Turkey.
Following their marriage, Kate embraced the role of a stepmom to Rio’s three children—Lorenz, 19, Tate, 17, and Tia, 14, from his late wife, Rebecca Ellison. In 2020, they celebrated the arrival of their son, Cree, and earlier this year, welcomed their daughter, Shae.
As they venture into this new chapter, friends and fans flooded the comments with support. TOWIE star Billie Shepherd expressed, “Wishing you all the luck and happiness!” while Rochelle Humes from This Morning added, “So excited for you! See you in October!”
Before making this major move, Rio and Kate lived in a high-end home in Bromley, South East London, but often visited Dubai for family holidays.
Shortly after announcing their move, Kate took to Instagram Stories to express her gratitude for the lovely messages she received. “This summer has been a complete whirlwind! It’s my first time moving as a family, and relocating to another country has truly been a rollercoaster. I’ve also been busy with a passion project that I can’t wait to reveal to you all soon!” she shared.
“Everything feels like new beginnings happening all at once. I feel like I haven’t had a moment to catch up with you all with all that’s been happening! I hope everyone is doing well,” she continued.
Earlier this year, Rio shared with The National the rationale behind their family’s decision to move. “In Dubai, we see value and positivity everywhere, and it’s a vibrant environment for the kids with great energy. The lifestyle, safety, beautiful weather, and an entirely new way of life, it all feels just right,” he explained.
He also praised the education system in Dubai, noting it aligns well since it still focuses on the English curriculum, making it a perfect fit for their young children. “We have a four- and a two-year-old, so it feels like perfect timing for them too,” he added.
