Lindsay Lohan is opening up about her big move from the bright lights of Hollywood to the quieter life in Dubai.
At 39, she spent a lot of her younger years navigating the chaos of fame and trying to dodge the ever-present paparazzi. Fast forward to now, she’s swapped all that glamour for what she calls a “very normal life” far away from Los Angeles’ prying eyes.
During an appearance on “LIVE with Kelly and Mark”, Lohan shared, “It’s just far away from Hollywood. I can go out to eat without worrying about someone snapping a picture of my son. Here, I feel really safe.”
She also touched on the legal protections regarding privacy in Dubai, explaining, “Here, you can’t just take photos of someone at a restaurant without asking—they have to consent. It’s such a refreshing change.”
Lohan revealed that her life in Los Angeles often felt overwhelming because of the constant media attention. She reflected on the stress of outings, even saying, “Whenever I took my son to the park, there was always a worry about cameras being around. But in New York, it’s different. Nobody bothers us, and there’s a whole different vibe there.” This preference for peace was influential in her decision to move.
She remarked on the positives of living in L.A., particularly enjoying the space it offers, but compared it to her life in Dubai. “In Dubai, I can have all of that—privacy, peace, and the space to breathe. I just don’t have those worries. It feels safe. “
Lohan, who gained popularity at a young age, feels that media frenzy often overshadowed her professional achievements. In a conversation with Bustle back in 2024, she expressed, “A lot of my work got blurred by the flashing lights and annoying paparazzi. I truly wish that part hadn’t happened.”
Expressing a desire for privacy, she added, “I felt like an unwelcome spotlight was on me, and it pushed my wish to step back and just see things on my own terms.”
Now, after getting back to the film world in projects like “Freakier Friday,” she emphasizes the importance of prioritizing her well-being. Family is central to her life, and she says, “At the heart of it all are my husband, my son, and me. Having that balance and a solid routine is vital, especially when you have kids. I follow their routine; it keeps everything on track for us.”
