Bad Bunny to Rock the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Get ready, folks! Bad Bunny has been announced as the featured performer for next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.

This exciting news broke during the game on Sunday night between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers, which viewers watched on NBC—the same network set to air Super Bowl LX on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, broke the news through a social media post right at halftime. In a compelling video set to the catchy beats of his hit “Callaíta” from 2019, he was shown hanging out on a beach, perched atop a goalpost. The date of the big game flashed on the screen followed by the Apple Music logo, the official sponsor.

During the broadcast, halftime host Maria Taylor highlighted that Bad Bunny is not just a star but a three-time Grammy winner and “the most-streamed artist in the world.” Talk about impressive!

In a heartfelt statement, Bad Bunny expressed, “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown. … This is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

He recently dropped his sixth solo studio album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” which rocketed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. Plus, he completed a 30-show residency in Puerto Rico, mainly aimed at boosting the economy of his hometown and allowing primarily local fans to attend.

Jay-Z, the hip-hop mogul behind Roc Nation, which is producing the halftime show again, praised Bad Bunny’s influence on Puerto Rico, stating how inspiring his contributions have been. “We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage,” he declared.

However, in contrast to performing in the U.S. corporate concerts, Bad Bunny’s world tour will take him to various countries across Central and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, but sadly, he won’t make any stops in the U.S. He has expressed concerns about potential immigration issues regarding his shows on American soil.

So, this Super Bowl could be Bad Bunny’s only U.S. performance in 2026. He hinted in a post on X that after conversations with his team, it seems he’ll likely only agree to a single date here.

Mark your calendars! Super Bowl LX will not only be aired on NBC but also streamed on Peacock, and the previous game’s viewership hit a record with an average of 127.7 million viewers.

This past February, hip-hop heavyweight Kendrick Lamar entertained the crowd, which included a memorable nod to his beef with Drake during his performance. The last two Super Bowls had stars like Rihanna and Usher taking the stage, proving this year’s show will be no less exciting!
