Good morning, everyone.
Authorities have revealed that Claudio Neves Valente, a 48-year-old former student of Brown University and a national from Portugal, was found dead at a storage facility. His death, reported to be from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, was confirmed following a police press briefing on Thursday evening.
Valente is the prime suspect in a recent horrific incident at Brown University where he allegedly claimed the lives of two individuals and injured eight others. The local police chief, Oscar Perez, stated that it appears Valente acted on his own during these attacks.
Leah Foley, who serves as the U.S. attorney for Massachusetts, provided further details at a press event in Boston, indicating that Valente also shot and killed MIT’s physics professor Nuno FG Loureiro two days following the Brown University tragedy.
