Late Tuesday, Cracker Barrel made a big announcement: they’re ditching their modern logo and going back to the classic design. This decision came in response to a storm of criticism, with former President Donald Trump also weighing in on the situation.
According to a statement on their website, the beloved diner chain confirmed it will keep the familiar logo that shows an older gentleman in overalls beside a barrel, accompanied by the phrase ‘Old Country Store.’
In their announcement, Cracker Barrel expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. Our new logo is going away, and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain.”
The logo controversy kicked off the previous week when Cracker Barrel revealed plans for a streamlined look featuring only the name of the company. This change was part of a broader campaign aimed at modernizing their restaurants and attracting a younger crowd.
However, many fans were against it. Just that same Tuesday, Trump took to Truth Social to comment that Cracker Barrel should “admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before.” He added that embracing the classic logo could offer the chain “a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity.”
