Six LMPD officers indicted in a work fraud scheme pleaded not guilty in court on Monday.

The officers were charged last week after a sweeping months long investigation.

Prosecutors said these six officers were paid for private security jobs while still on the clock for their regular patrol shifts.

That security company was created by one of the officers who officials said tried to destroy evidence when it appeared he'd been exposed.

Michael Abernathy Jr., Dontae Booker, Cortez Ernest, Jackie Miller, Ashley Spratt and Roniqua Yocum are charged with theft and criminal syndication.
