Nick Reiner is in deep trouble; he is set to face charges for the double homicide of his own parents, Rob and Michele Reiner. This news was shared by Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman during a press briefing alongside LAPD Chief Jim McDonell.

“What he’s facing includes two counts of first-degree murder with multiple murder circumstances attached,” Hochman explained. “Additionally, there’s an allegation that he personally used a deadly weapon, specifically a knife. If convicted, he could face life in prison without parole or even the death penalty.”

Originally, Nick was supposed to make his court debut on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, informed Fox News Digital that “he’s not fit to be transported to the court due to medical concerns.”

During a separate press event on Monday, the LAPD briefly mentioned the shocking deaths of the influential filmmaker and his wife, but details were scarce, according to Chief McDonnell.

Nick quickly became the prime suspect and was arrested on murder allegations, leaving him without bail.

“On December 14, 2025, around 3:40 p.m., LAPD officers were called to a death investigation at a residence located in the 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue,” the police reported.

On Monday, Nick was transferred to the Twin Towers Correctional Facility as per the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department directive. Earlier, he had been booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center before being moved to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles.

Law enforcement officials are looking into reports that both Rob and Michele sustained stab wounds, as shared by a source speaking with The Associated Press anonymously.

A family spokesperson confirmed the heartbreaking news to Variety, stating, “We are devastated by the news of Michele and Rob Reiner’s passing. This loss is unspeakable, and we ask for privacy as we navigate this incredibly challenging period.”

Rob and Michele were parents to three: Jake, Nick, and Romy.
