The Osbournes really kicked off the whole reality TV scene, but it’s just come out that the legendary Ozzy Osbourne’s last months were being filmed for a new upcoming documentary by the BBC.

Ozzy, the famed frontman of Black Sabbath, passed away at 76, peacefully surrounded by his family on a Tuesday morning. His wife, Sharon Osbourne, aged 72, alongside their four children, released a heartfelt statement saying, “It’s with deep sadness that we report our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has left us this morning. He was by our side and filled with love. We kindly ask for privacy during this time. Love, Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis.” In the wake of his passing, an interview with Jack resurfaced, where he let slip that his father’s final moments were being filmed for a BBC documentary.

The planned 10-part series, titled Home To Roost, originally aimed to cover Ozzy and Sharon’s return to their Buckinghamshire home after spending two decades in the States. However, it’s set to transform into a tribute to the rock legend.

Jack previewed some of the documentary details with the Mail’s Weekend Magazine, sharing, “Right now, it’s focused on the Black Sabbath era and the early ’80s. We’re looking to give it a more adult vibe, so I’m certain it’s not just going to be a light and fluffy piece.” Jack is co-producing the film, promising plenty of the wild antics that fans have loved, along with insights into Ozzy and Sharon’s romance that began back in the ’70s. He also confirmed that Ozzy was working on an autobiography titled Last Rites before he passed, which is expected to launch this fall.

Before his passing, Ozzy made his final stage appearance in Birmingham, sharing the stage with his Black Sabbath bandmates at Villa Park. This concert was a heartfelt tribute to his 50-year music career, attended by many industry icons, giving him a beautiful farewell. To honor him, a cake featuring a detailed portrait of Ozzy was presented, celebrating both his legacy and the band’s final performance together.

Recollecting this moment, Black Sabbath’s co-founder Tony Iommi reflected on BBC Radio 4’s Today show, stating, “Ozzy truly loved performing; he had a passion for music and for coming together with his bandmates. I’m overjoyed we could reunite for that farewell show.” He added, “Being with everyone again was fantastic—Ozzy felt completely at home, and it was uplifting for all of us.”
