The situation may, however, be worse than some feared.

Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Wilson has a ruptured middle-finger tendon, will likely require surgery and will be sidelined for a minimum of one month:

Assuming Seattle doesn't go shopping for a proven commodity via a trade or free agency, Smith should get the nod for each of those matchups as Seattle continues to evaluate Wilson's recovery.
