Golden Globes: What to Know About the 2022 Awards That Won't Be Aired on TV
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will host the 79th annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 9, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California , recognizing film and television from the past year. While it remains at its traditional venue, there is little else about the event that will look as it has in previous years. HFPA president Helen Hoehne previously said, according to Variety, that the event wouldn't be "the celebrity-driven event like it has been in the past." "We realize this year is different, so we're going to probably also try something different for January 9," she added.
“As the 49ers prepare for a day-shortened week of practice and a road trip to Green Bay, there are looming questions over three monumentally important players in Nick Bosa, Fred Warner and Jimmy Garoppolo.”
“However, if Garoppolo starts the divisional-playoff game against Green Bay on Saturday night, it will be fascinating to see the game plan Shanahan devises for a quarterback with a bum shoulder and a bum thumb.”
Recap: Utah defeats Denver 115-109 despite a 26 point, 21 rebound triple-double from Jokic
The Nuggets showed resolve throughout, but Bojan Bogdanovic’s 36 points proved too much for Denver tonightTonight was one of those games where no matter how close Denver came, they either could not get a stop or score a bucket to obtain the lead. They held the Western Conference player of the month, Donovan Mitchell, to just 17 points on 8-22 shooting and 1-9 from three, but they could stop Bogdanovic at any point in the game. Whenever the Nuggets made their comeback, he responded with a scoring run of his own. He proved once again to be a Nugget killer.
“He didn’t think Garoppolo would miss any practice time this week due to the issue, but it adds another layer of drama to the short work week. The 49ers usually start their practices on Wednesday. This week, they’ll have Tuesday through Thursday practices in Santa Clara before flying to Wisconsin after the Thursday session.”
“The San Francisco 49ers are preparing to play the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the playoffs on Saturday. Head coach Kyle Shanahan, special teams coordinator Richard Hightower, and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo spoke with reporters before today’s practice. Here is everything they had to say.”
Recap: The Nuggets get a much needed win at home
The Nuggets beat the kings at home to snap a 2 game losing streakWill Barton opens the game for the Nuggets with a 3, today is also Thrill’s 31st birthday. JaMychal Green and Monte Morris were both put into the starters tonight. After Monte played one game off the bench it seems that the coaching staff wants him to be the starter. Aaron Gordon was attacking the rim and he was all over the court, he had 2 dunks in the first quarter. The Nuggets offense was flowing early, the ball was moving everywhere and even Jokic was dunking.
“[The 49ers have] got a much better tandem right now, up front,” Baldinger continued. “And so, to me, just like when they beat the Packers two years ago in the [NFC] Championship Game, look at how they ran the ball against the Packers. And look at how Aaron Rodgers had to play from behind, and what that looked like. To me, if you’re a Forty-Niner fan, just go back and rewatch that game, and that’s what it can look like, even if it’s at Lambeau. It doesn’t matter.”
“At one point during his Tuesday afternoon news conference, Jimmy Garoppolo was asked what was bothering him more this week, his sprained right thumb or his sprained right shoulder?... The quarterback’s answer: “Uh, yes.””
“Maiocco went into detail on his reasoning with Tolbert, Krueger and Brooks on Monday, giving three reasons why it is very unlikely Garoppolo is on the team next season. His answer has been edited for clarity and length.”
“Aaron does a real good job of not making bad decisions and not turning the ball over,” head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters before Tuesday’s practice. “But he also makes all the plays downfield whenever you’re off just a hair. We need Trey to be very aggressive, let it rip.”
Recap: Jokic scores 34 as the Nuggets win a tight one against the Pistons 117-111 .
He did not record his fifth straight triple double, but Jokic filled the stat sheet once again with 34/9/8 in another MVP performanceThe bench saved the day for the Nuggets tonight. They scored 32 points in their last two games combined, but they erupted for 41 as Forbes and Nnaji contributed with 12 apiece. DeMarcus Cousins made his Nugget debut and although he shot 1-7, his physicality benefited that bench as his screens moved opponents into the parking lot. The Nuggets finish their homestead 4-2 and now enter a six game road trip. They will play six games in nine days including two sets of back-to-backs.
