Once upon a time, Rudy Giuliani, who used to be the mayor of New York City, found himself in a bit of a scary situation. The 81-year-old was involved in a serious car accident while trying to help someone in need in New Hampshire, as per his spokesperson’s update.
The incident took place Saturday night when Giuliani’s car got hit from behind. Michael Ragusa, who serves as his spokesperson and head of security, mentioned that following the crash, Giuliani was rushed to a local trauma center. There, doctors revealed that he had a fractured thoracic vertebrae, along with several cuts and bruises. He also suffered injuries to his left arm and lower leg.
Before this unfortunate accident, Giuliani had been lending assistance to a woman hurt in a domestic violence situation. Ragusa outlined how Giuliani came to her aid: “He saw a woman in distress, ranging for emergency help, and he quickly called 911 to ensure she was safe. He stayed until the cops arrived to ensure her protection.“
After helping the woman, Giuliani was back on the road when his vehicle was suddenly rear-ended at a dangerously high speed. The news is chilling as Ragusa described how Giuliani was swiftly taken to a trauma center for immediate nutritional support. In addition to the fractured vertebrae, he had several contusions and lacerations.
The Independent has reached out to the New Hampshire Highway Patrol for additional details.
According to Ragusa, Giuliani’s business associate and a medical provider were called to oversee his care at the hospital. Thankfully, he is now in good spirits and on the mend, as Ragusa mentioned in a recent post on X.
Giuliani’s son, Andrew, who is also involved with the White House FIFA World Cup 2026 Task Force, has been asking people to keep his dad in their thoughts and prayers. Reports from The New York Post show that fellow Republicans have also sent him warm wishes online.
Far-right activist Laura Loomer posted, “Let’s all pray for his recovery.” Similarly, Conservative podcaster Benny Johnson echoed this sentiment on X, saying, “Please, everyone, pray for America’s Mayor.”
It looks like Giuliani will remain in a Manchester-area hospital for a couple more days for tests and then will need to wear a brace to aid his recovery from the broken vertebrae, as hinted by The Post.
Giuliani’s political journey is pretty notable; he was mayor from 1994 to 2001 and even worked as a personal lawyer for former President Donald Trump during his first term. You may also remember he was in hot water over unfounded claims regarding the 2020 election results and was involved in a defamation suit settlement with two Georgia election workers that ended in a hefty $148 million damage award.
