Nokia’s Bold Move: Two New Divisions

Nokia (NYSE:NOK) has made a splash by announcing a big leadership shift along with the creation of two new departments. These are designed to boost their efforts in innovation and to ensure long-term growth. The effective date for these changes? Mark your calendars for October 1, 2025!

In the midst of these changes, Nokia revealed that Nishant Batra will be stepping down from his position as Chief Strategy and Technology Officer, also leaving the Group Leadership Team on September 30.

Why the New Divisions Matter

Justin Hotard, Nokia’s President and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the new setup: “Having a dedicated Technology and AI organization will be instrumental for us and our clients. The newly formed Corporate Development organization aims to fast-track our strategy evolution and bolster our business efforts.”

The Technology and AI Organization will encompass Nokia Bell Labs as well as the Technology and AI Leadership team and Group Security.

This new unit will be overseen by Pallavi Mahajan, who previously held the role of Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Data Center and AI Software at Intel (INTC).

On the other hand, the Corporate Development Organization will focus on various aspects like corporate development, partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, incubation activities, and NGP Capital.

Leading this new arm will be Konstanty Owczarek, who brings extensive experience in corporate development alongside a background in investment banking and strategy.
