But how about trying the classic cake with the sweet and sour fruits this year in a round shape with shortcrust pastry and crumbles? This delicious recipe is just as easy to prepare as the classic variant, but gives the plum cake a new lease of life. Simply serve whipped cream - done!Ingredients:

250 g flour 70 g sugar 125 g butter 1 egg 700 g plums 3 tbsp breadcrumbs 1 pinch of salt A little butter for the form A little flour for processing the dough
For the crumble:125 g butter 100 g sugar 1 pack of vanilla sugar 180 g flour 1 tsp cinnamon 1 pinch of salt Preparation: Mix the flour with the salt and sugar in a bowl. Add butter and egg and knead briefly into a smooth dough. Pack the dough in a cling film and chill for 30 minutes. In the meantime, wash, stone and halve the plums. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top and bottom heat. Grease a springform pan (26 centimeters) with a little butter. Then roll out the shortcrust pastry thinly on a lightly floured work surface. Line the springform pan with the dough, pulling an edge about 3 centimeters high. Pierce the dough base several times with a fork and then sprinkle breadcrumbs on the dough base. Place the plums upright in the mold until the bottom is completely covered. For the crumbs, put butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon and salt in a bowl and knead together. Add the flour and process the dough into coarse crumbles. Spread the sprinkles generously over the plums. Then put the springform pan in the oven and bake for about 40 minutes. Then let the cake cool completely, loosen the mold carefully and serve.
