‘The menopause is a bit s***, actually,’ she confessed. ‘You ache all over, you’re tired and fractious and you develop a layer of padding all over.

‘You can’t remember to make that appointment to see the damn endocrinologist. You can’t remember where you parked the car.

‘It’s important that you tell people this. I share this with my girls because I want them to be a bit more prepared than I was.’

The couple have three children, Amber, 28, Saffron, 26, and Talullah, 23. Yasmin was adamant that space was the key to a happy marriage.

She said: ‘Space is the saviour for any relationship. Headspace and physical space. The question is, how much? Too much distraction is not always a good thing.’

Yasmin also said that she found anger fundamentally unhelpful in arguments over the years.

‘When you want to explode, take a full breath, and exhale grace and calm,’ the 53-year-old advised. ‘In a long and deep relationship, there will be time to work out these feelings in a more meaningful way.

The age at which a woman reaches menopause can differ greatly from one individual to another. The average age of menopause is 51-years-old and most women will experience ‘the change’ between the ages of 45-55. But some females will reach menopause in their 30s.A new study has found that one significant factor puts women at a higher risk of early menopause.The study from University of Queensland looked at data from more than 24,000 women and found that being underweight or overweight could impact the age at which a woman reaches menopause.
