The 45-year-old Spice Girl revealed that daughter Scarlet, 10, has become more conscious of the way she looks as she moves into adolescence, which had made her more aware of promoting body positivity at all times.

"I didn't ever allow people to speak about diets in our house," Chisholm told Women's Health UK. "Scarlet's 10 years old now and I'm starting to notice that she's more conscious of the way she looks, but I think one of the positives of having gone through having an eating disorder is that I'm very conscious of how I speak around her.

Chisholm has previously revealed that she spent years under-eating and 'obsessively exercising' while dealing with the pressures of fame at the height of their fame in the '90s. But the star said she never compared her size or weight against any of her fellow Spice Girls – Mel B, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Geri Horner – because 'individuality' was the girl group's mantra.

"The saving grace of the Spice Girls was our individuality," she continued. "I'm sure over the years there have been little bits of jealousy here and there, but fundamentally we're so bloody different and on such different paths. I've stopped trying to compare myself, and that's a really important thing to do as a woman, especially when it comes to body image."
