Brian McFadden and his fiancée Danielle Parkinson are feeling more positive than ever as they prepare to begin their third cycle of IVF.

The couple, who met four years ago and got engaged just before Christmas, began their first cycle of IVF over 12 months ago, but were devastated when Danielle had a miscarriage late last year while Brian was out of the country. A subsequent attempt also failed.

Despite this, they’re still full of hope and positivity as they prepare to try again using one of the two eggs that currently remain on ice.

Brian is already a father to daughters Molly, 18, and Lilly, 17, with first wife Kerry Katona and said: “I know even though I’ve got two daughters and they’ve grown up, I’ve wanted to have a child since pretty much the day I met you, Dani.”

Danielle sweetly said of Brian: “He’s going to be such a good dad, I know he is an amazing dad, but he’s going to be an amazing dad for me equally. It wouldn’t have mattered if he had one, two, three, four kids, we still want one together.”

Praising his fiancee, Brian said: “I’ve so much admiration for Danielle for everything that she has physically put herself through.

“The man’s job in IVF is physically quite easy and all you have to do is give your sample and then it is just emotional.

“But for the women, having to inject yourself, the egg collection, the transfers, everything is her. She is the one that has to go through all the physical side of it and to be honest, it has just made me love her even more.”

Danielle tells us that it is important to support each other as a couple when going through IVF, saying: “You need to remember that you are doing this as a couple so as much as I am doing a lot of the physical stuff, for both of us it is really important to support each other and for me to support Brian.”

The couple revealed that they were quite secretive when they first began their IVF journey, before sadly suffering a miscarriage.

After realising that so many people have similar experiences and struggle to conceive naturally, the pair wanted to share their story and give others hope and realise that there is help out there.

Heading into their third cycle of IVF, the pair say they are feeling positive after making changes to their diet in recent months.

Brian said: “We are both feeling so much more positive now because we have been doing the diet now for four months and we have kept ourselves in good shape by walking and doing cardio.

“When we stared the diet I was 103 kilograms; probably the heaviest I’ve been in a while but that was lockdown weight, sitting eating pizza and drinking a bottle of wine every night. I’m now down to about 89 kilograms so it’s just over two stone.

“We are primed for this one, so we are feeling more positive and also, this is the third out of the four eggs and they say the last two eggs we had are the strongest.

Brian said: “We have only done it [IVF] twice and I know people that have done it 12/13 times before they got pregnant, so we are still at the very early stages – we have a long way to go before we would even consider packing in trying."

The pair went on reveal that adoption and surrogacy is something that they would consider, and said that some of their friends have already offered to be a surrogate.

The pair had planned to get married next year in the summer of 2021, but they have decided to postpone their nuptials and concentrate on falling pregnant, with that being their number one priority.
