An SNP MSP has called out an online troll who blamed hisfor a fire at a Scots church last week.
MSP Kevin Stewart received a 'homophobic rant” email after St Simon’s Church in Partick, went up in flames in the early hours of Wednesday, July 28, according to .
The email said that the fire was God “confirming his prophetic word” to the politician and added that they and the MSP should discuss Mr Stewart's "deliverance from homosexuality" following the incident.
It read: "God has confirmed my prophetic word to you through the tragic fire that devastated the 163-year-old St Simon's RC church at Glasgow today.

The Minister for Mental Wellbeing and Social Care shared the strange email on Twitter.
He added: “It’s rare that I receive homophobic rants, but it seems that someone believes that my sexuality “caused” the devastating fire at St Simon’s in Glasgow & that I need to be “delivered from my homosexuality.
"Unsurprisingly, I’ve refused the offer to “pray the gay” out of me.”
One Twitter user replied: "Dear Kevin. Utterly appalling, I’m so sorry you’ve had it - it’s no place in civic Scotland and so right to call out. You’re too gentle in not naming them.
"It’s unfortunate hate crime agenda is so politicised as this is a clear example to be called out, hope police will look at it."
Another added: "Jeez. I struggle to believe that anyone genuinely thinks that in 2021. So sorry you received such nasty drivel."
They were joined by a further person who said: "Sorry you have received this rubbish Kevin. Solidarity."
St Simon’s church is 163-years-old making it the oldest building in the Partick area and third oldest Catholic church in Scotland.
