DEVASTATED viewers of 24 Hours in A & E were in tears tonight when a patient died after filming - and his wife said he visited her "every day". In the 'best bits' episode Clive was rushed to St George's Hospital in south west London with fluid on his lungs. His wife Linda also told his heartbreaking story revealing her once happy-go-lucky husband had turned suicidal after being struck down with skin cancer in 1996, robbing him of his enjoyment of sunbathing. She also melted hearts when she revealed how she married Clive against the wishes of her family and friends after knowing him for just six weeks.

Channel 4 24 Hours in A&E viewers have reacted with heartbreak after it emerged a star had died during filming.

Clive, who was rushed to hospital with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), tragically died while filming.

He and his wife Linda were on the show for the hour long episode on Tuesday evening, which aired from 9pm.

Clive's wife revealed how the pair got married six weeks after meeting each other.

And she touchingly said he visited her "every day" since his death.

Linda explained to the cameras how a robin visited her every night at 7 o’clock before saying “I’m sure it’s Clive!”
