The Sweet Reason Princess Beatrice Probably Won't Release Her Wedding Photos Until Tomorrow Looks like we're going to have to waitUnlike other royal weddings, the pair kept the ceremony low-key, and due to the pandemic, had to scale back the ceremony from 150 guests so everybody could social distance safely. Drinking tea can significantly lower blood pressure © wenn A new study has found that drinking tea can significantly lower blood pressure. Researchers at the University of Reading and Cambridge University have found that foods and drinks such as tea, apples and berries are high in flavonoids, and may reduce the risk of high blood pressure. High blood pressure can increase the chances of being diagnosed with a serious disease, such as coronary heart disease or kidney disease, if left untreated.

THE VENUE

As their wedding was not a state event, Harry and Meghan opted for the more intimate venue of St George's Chapel in Windsor (with a guestlist of just 600). The floral arches inside and outside the chapel were a subtle tribute to Harry's late mother, Princess Diana: she is said to have loved white roses.

Meghan decided against having an official maid of honour (FYI, she had too many friends to choose from...) but her close friend and unofficial stylist Jessica Mulroney has been her right-hand woman in the lead up to the wedding. She arrived with her daughter Ivy, a bridesmaid, and the Duchess of Cambridge.

THE TIARA

Kate's 'something borrowed' was the Cartier Halo Scroll tiara, loaned from her grandmother-in-law the Queen. Featuring no fewer than 739 brilliant-cut diamonds and 149 baguette diamonds, it was commissioned for the Queen Mother in 1936 by her husband, the future George VI, weeks before he was crowned King. It was passed on to the Queen as an 18th birthday present; though Kate has since become its most famous wearer, Her Majesty had previously lent it to Princess Margaret and to her eldest daughter, the Princess Royal.

THE OFFICIAL PHOTOS

Shot by Alexi Lubomirski (the man behind the couple's engagement photos) in the Green Drawing Room of Windsor Castle, Harry and Meghan's photos follow a slightly less formal set-up.

9:30am: Ah, the British weather. The autumn winds are proving difficult for guests arriving in Windsor - particularly the female wedding-goers wearing the obligatory hats... Plus, one of the trees positioned outside the chapel appears to have toppled over.

9:20am: The palace announces that Alex Bramall will be Jack and Eugenie's official wedding photographer, having previously photographed the Princess for Harper's Bazaar back in 2016.

'It is an honour and a privilege to be invited to photograph Princess Eugenie and Jack on this most special of days. I look forward with great excitement to capturing this significant occasion and wish them both a happy future together,' he said in a statement.

9:00am: Crowds are starting to build in Windsor. Amanda Goldman, 55, from Woking tells Grazia she's here for Prince Andrew and Fergie. 'I'm a big fan of Andrew and Fergie. I love horses as much as they do, I think their daughters are stunning. It's a beautiful event - she's got her Prince Charming.' As for the cost to the public, Amanda says: 'It doesn't matter about the money at all. It's all about happiness today. And why not? They do a lot for England.'

8:30am: The floral arrangements are unveiled outside St George's chapel. Designer Rob van Helden has created an autumnal feel with his decorations, using 'sing foliage and flowering branches, sourced locally from Windsor Great Park, combined with roses, spray roses, hydrangeas, dahlias and berries.'

Princess Eugenie's royal wedding: all your questions answered

According to The Mail On Sunday, Eugenie and Jack have invited 850 guests to their October nuptials at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. With the venue only seating 800, an extra 50 seats will have to be brought in especially. In contrast, Harry and Meghan invited 600 people to their May wedding. The star-studded guestlist will also rival Harry and Meghan’s with George and Amal Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham, Robbie and Ayda Williams and artist Tracey Emin all set to appear.

A new dispatch from the palace has now confirmed that Princess Beatrice will be the maid of honour for her younger sister, while Jack has chosen his brother Tom Brooksbank to take on best man duties.

Among the bridal party will be Princess Charlotte, Savannah and Isla Philips, Mia Tindall, Maud Windsor and Theodora Williams (yes, that's Robbie Williams' daughter) as flower girls, and Prince George and Louis de Givenchy as page boys. They will be joined by Eugenie's younger cousins Lady Louise Mountbatten Windsor and James, Viscount Severn as special attendants.

After the 11am church ceremony all 850 guests will attend a traditional wedding breakfast at George’s Hall hosted by the Queen and Duke of York. 400 of the guests have then been invited to a champagne evening party at the family home, Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

However, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will not be among those guests. The Prince of Wales' wife (and Eugenie's aunt by marriage) has a scheduling conflict, and will be heading up to Scotland to visit a school. As the event was planned months before Eugenie and Jack finalised their wedding date, the Duchess reportedly feels that she must honour the more long-standing commitment.

'Royals often miss family events for pre-scheduled engagements. It's at a school and was scheduled long before. I expect she doesn't want to disappoint the children. She will have spoken to Eugenie about it,' royal commentator Victoria Arbiter explained on Twitter.

Though it was confirmed last week that the BBC will not be broadcasting the ceremony, ITV has now announced that it will screen the wedding from 10am on the morning of 12th October.

The three hour special edition of This Morning at the Royal Wedding will be hosted by Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

The evening 'do has allegedly cost the Yorks £100,000 and will include a three-course dinner organised by upmarket catering firm Bentley’s, dancing in the marquee complete with glass dance floor, and live music from Ellie Goulding and Robbie Williams.

In the meantime, here's everything you need to know about the happy couple and their upcoming wedding...

Slow down. Who is Princess Eugenie of York?

The clue is in the 'of York' part. Eugenie Victoria Helena is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew, the Queen's third child who also goes by the title of Duke of York, and his officially-ex-yet-still-cohabiting wife Sarah Ferguson, who still uses the title of Duchess of York (you'll probably know her best as the famous Fergie who is neither the former Black Eyed Pea nor the former Man United manager, and we fully recommend following her on Instagram).

Born on 23rd March 1990, she is the Queen's sixth grandchild and so is currently ninth in line to the throne, just behind her elder sister Princess Beatrice (she of royal wedding hat meme fame), and just ahead of her uncle, Prince Edward. Since 2015, she's worked at Mayfair gallery Hauser & Wirth as an associate director, just a short hop from her new home at Kensington Palace, Ivy Cottage, which she shares with Jack.

And who is Jack Brooksbank?

a close up of a person wearing a hat: princess eugenie with jack brooksbank © Credits: Shutterstock princess eugenie with jack brooksbank

Where to begin? Perhaps with the fact that 32-year-old Jack used to manage Mahiki, the tiki-themed London haunt favoured by Prince Harry back in his partying days? That he and Eugenie first caught one another’s eye on the slopes of Swiss skiing resort Verbier? Or that he now works as an ambassador for George Clooney and Rande Gerber’s tequila brand, Casamigos (which could, at a push, be the real reason the Clooneys appeared at the royal wedding…)? He is also – gasp – a commoner (hey, it’s 2018 - and Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle seem to be managing just fine, too): his parents Nicola and George are an accountant and a company director respectively.

When did Eugenie and Jack get engaged?

It's OK to admit that you might have been a little distracted by the Harry and Meghan show at the time, but Jack proposed to Eugenie on holiday in Nicaragua back in January, and the engagement was announced in a statement from Buckingham Palace on the 22nd of that month. Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York were said to be 'delighted' at the news, while Jack's parents were 'over the moon.'

Tell me about the ring!

a close up of a hand: princess eugenie's engagement ring © Credits: Shutterstock princess eugenie's engagement ring

It’s really something. Eugenie’s engagement ring features – deep breath – a pink oval padparadscha sapphire, ten brilliant cut diamonds and two pear cut diamonds, and also bears a striking resemblance to the ruby ring with which her father proposed to her mother. It’s good to see that Jack’s done his royal research – and he’s also chosen a ring that’s worth around £100,000, double the value of Meghan Markle’s engagement ring (but who’s counting?)

And when are they getting married?

The wedding date is set for 12th October 2018, which means that Eugenie and Jack's nuptials will fall on a Friday, but don't bother holding out for a Bank Holiday, chancers - given that we didn't get a day off for Harry and Meghan, we can measure the odds that we might get one this time around can be measured in nanometres. Sigh.

Where will the ceremony be held?

a group of people standing in front of a building: prince harry's wedding at st george's chapel, windsor © Credits: Shutterstock prince harry's wedding at st george's chapel, windsor

Eugenie and Jack will be tying the knot in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle which, you might recall, was also where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made things official on May 19th.

Can I watch the royal wedding on TV?

Time to dust off all that bunting you bulk bought back in May: after much rumoured wrangling, ITV have confirmed that they will be broadcasting the celebrations from Windsor Castle on 12th October. This Morning at the Royal Wedding, presented by Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, will kick off at 10am and last for three hours. Adjust your schedule accordingly. Plus, if you're deskbound and your work colleagues don't seem too keen on throwing a royal wedding viewing party, you're in luck: the entire celebrations will be streamed on Youtube and on the Duke of York's Facebook page. Not that we'd ever encourage surreptitious viewing during working hours...

What will Princess Eugenie's wedding dress look like?

As is the case with royal wedding dresses, we won't know for sure until the day itself, though we can certainly mine Eugenie's most recent fashion choices for clues in the mean time. For her official engagement photos, the Princess chose a floral style by Erdem, who is both a fashion industry favourite and a go-to label for the younger generation of royals. It's hardly a stretch to see Eugenie wearing a bespoke style from the London-based, Canadian-born designer on her wedding day - indeed, Ladbrokes currently have the odds for an Erdem gown at 7/2, with Suzannah, Jenny Packham and Alice Temperley also thought to be in the running.

Perhaps the designer she chooses will be an under-the-radar talent: for her cousin's wedding, Eugenie was one of the first to wear Gainsbourg, the luxury tailoring and couture label set up by Caroline Breteau, a former art director atVogue, and Sam Dougal, previously of Alexander McQueen.

Does Eugenie get to wear a tiara, too?

As the granddaughter of the Queen, it's only fitting that Eugenie will wear a tiara on her wedding day - and it seems that one piece with a special significance has already been earmarked for the occasion. Traditionally, a bride wears her family tiara, and in Eugenie’s case this is the York Tiara, a diamond-encrusted headpiece said to have been specially commissioned by the Queen and presented to Sarah Ferguson as a wedding gift in 1986.

Will there be a carriage procession?

The newly-weds will set off on a carriage procession from St George’s Chapel, which will take them around the grounds of Windsor Castle before traveling into the town through Castle Hill and moving onto Windsor High Street, eventually returning to the castle via Cambridge Gate. They will not journey down the Long Walk like Harry and Meghan did on their wedding day; indeed, the carriage ride will be slightly shorter.

All I want to know is... will Fergie be there?

a person wearing a suit and tie: sarah ferguson royal wedding © Credits: Shutterstock sarah ferguson royal wedding

Of course. She's the mother of the bride, and presumably she wouldn't miss it for the world - though expect some very decorous side eye from Prince Philip and Prince Charles, who reportedly aren't huge fans.

And will Princess Beatrice wear a wild hat?

Royal protocol dictates that female wedding guests simply must wear a hat, but judging from her understated headgear at Harry and Meghan's wedding, she's toned things down after her Philip Treacy fascinator launched a thousand memes when Prince William married Kate Middleton in 2011. This is why we can't have nice things. There is, however, one potential scenario in which Beatrice won't wear a hat at all...

Is Princess Beatrice going to be her sister's maid of honour, then?

Royal brides aren't typically followed down the aisle by a group of close female friends, but just as Kate asked Pippa to act as maid of honour, Eugenie has now asked her older sister to do the honours (similarly, Jack's brother, Tom Brooksbank, is set to act as best man). The pair are, after all, very close, having flat-shared at St James's Palace for years, and presumably Eugenie will need some help marshalling a gaggle of bridesmaids and page boys, too...

Is Prince George going to have anything to do with this?

But of course. At this stage, George is practically a veteran at this page boy stuff, having taken on the role for his aunt Pippa Middleton and for his uncle Prince Harry. Let's just pray he gets to stick to his signature style of shorts this time around.

Who else will be Princess Eugenie's bridesmaids and page boys?

Princess Charlotte will be joined by Mia Tindall, daughter of Eugenie's cousin Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall, and Savannah and Isla Phillips, daughters of her cousin Peter and his wife Autumn, along with Eugenie's god-daughter Maud Windsor, Robbie Williams' daughter Theodora and family friend Louis de Givenchy. Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor and her brother James, Viscount Severn, are acting as 'special attendants.'

Which royals will attend the wedding?

Look out for the usual suspects: the Queen and Prince Philip, the Prince of Wales (but NOT the Duchess of Cornwall) Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, the Cambridges, the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Tindalls, we could go on... Plus, Eugenie has a distinctly starry friendship circle, which includes Cara Delevingne, Ellie Goulding and James Blunt as well as two of Prince Harry's exes, Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas.

What about the wedding cake?

The Palace has confirmed that London-based cakemaker Sophie Cabot will be doing the honours, after being discovered by the couple through the Pitch at the Palace scheme, an initiative organised by Eugenie’s father Prince Andrew. Cabot will be whipping up a red velvet and chocolate cake, which the official statement describes as ‘a traditional cake, with a modern feel. It was incorporate the rich colours of autumn in its design and will be covered with detailed sugar work including ivy.’ Perhaps that latter detail is a nod to the Kensington Palace home that the couple share, Ivy Cottage.

And will Princess Eugenie's new husband get a royal title?

According to Hello!, Jack Brooksbank was offered the title of Earl, but refused it, and Princess Eugenie will change her official title, choosing to be styled as Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie, Mrs Jack Brooksbank.

How much will all this be costing?

Though it's thought that the Yorks will cover the cost of the ceremony and the after-party, security costs are thought to have reached up towards £2 million, something that's prompted a new petition. Titled 'No taxpayer funding for Eugenie's wedding,' the online petition argues that the public should not be footing this bill as Eugenie does not carry out royal engagements. To date, it has received around 14,000 signatures.
