Aston Martin just gave us a first look at its new DBX SUV that will take on Bentley and Lamborghini Aston Martin confirmed that its upcoming luxury SUV will be named the DBX. The company also gave the public its first look at an Aston Martin DBX prototype. The DBX will be the latest entrant into the ultra-premium SUV segment and will take on the likes of the Bentley Bentayga, Range Rover Autobiography, and the Lamborghini Urus. The production Aston Martin DBX is expected to launch sometime in the fourth quarter of 2019. Aston Martin confirmed on Tuesday that is upcoming luxury SUV will be called the DBX. In addition, Aston gave the public its first look at the first SUV in company history.

Aston Martin has announced the formation of a new heritage department which will look after the brand's historic racing cars.

Aston Martin Heritage Racing also aligns the legendary British brand with Masters Historic Racing – one of the world’s leading historic race event organisers and promoters – as its automotive partner.

Aston Martin will supply Masters Historic Racing with pace cars and course cars – namely the Vantage and Rapide AMR respectively – while Masters Historic Racing will promote historic Aston Martin racing series, one of which is the Aston Martin Masters Endurance Legends Series.

The Aston Martin Masters Endurance Legends Series, or AMMEL, is open to Le Mans prototypes and GT cars from 1995-2012. During that period Aston Martin raced the iconic DBR9 GT1 car, as well as the Lola B09/60, prototype, otherwise known as the Aston Martin DBR1-2 (above), among a number of other GT2 and GTE cars.

AMMEL races consist of races between 30 minutes and 45 minutes, with a mandatory pit stop and the ability to race with either one or two drivers.
