Motorsport maniac Ken Block has unveiled the impressive design for his new Ford Escort RS Cosworth, ahead of it embarking on a world tour.

After much teasing on social media, Block launched a video showing the finished concept for the car branded by him as “Cossie V2”.

It comes less than nine months after his original Escort Cosworth was engulfed by flames, following an accident on the New England Rally in July 2018.

Haas kickstarts F1 2019 launches with unveiling of all-new livery

Haas kickstarts F1 2019 launches with unveiling of all-new livery Haas has become the first team to launch its 2019 car ahead of the new Formula 1 season, revealing an all-new look for the eagerly-anticipated VF-19. The American outfit, which enters its fourth season in F1, struck a deal together with energy drinks company Rich Energy in late 2018 as its new title sponsor from this year. The firm’s black-and-gold colour scheme was the influence for the 2019 livery, Haas originally sported a grey and red livery in its first three years. The team finished a career-best fifth in the constructors’ standings last season, with the aim of progressing a position higher to head the midfield this campaign.

Block vowed to rebuild, but with literally nothing left of the old car an all- new build took place. The latest car is still an Escort Cosworth , though it has more than just a cool modern/retro livery applied to the outside. It’ s been reimagined as a present-day WRC machine and boasts several aero tweaks

This has at least allowed for improvements to be made to mechanical construction of the car and, most importantly it seems, the chance to create an entirely new livery.

To create the new design, Block turned to California-based Troy Lee. Known for creating impressive custom paint schemes for motorsport helmets, designing an entire vehicle livery required Lee to work on a much bigger canvas.

This allowed Block and his designer, Ash Thorp, to plot ideas for how radical the new RS Cosworth could be, without having to enter a wind tunnel. Design elements from Block’s current Ford Fiesta rally car have also been incorporated.

Williams reveals title sponsor plus revised livery

Williams reveals title sponsor plus revised livery Williams has unveiled a new-look livery and title sponsor ahead of the 2019 Formula 1 season at the team’s base in Grove. The British outfit cut ties with its original title partner Martini after the alcoholic brand pulled the plug on its five-year sponsorship deal at the end of last year. At the launch event, Williams announced a partnership with telecommunications company ROKIT, also revealing a light blue and white livery on the FW42. Williams comes off the back of its worst season since 2013, registering just seven points over the campaign to prop up the constructors’ standings for the first time in its 41-year history.

Once the finished concept for the car was created, Block’s team was able to map the livery ideas from Troy Lee onto the CGI rendered Escort.  The result is certainly stunning, and turns the classic Escort shape into a modern-looking rally weapon.

As part of the 2019 ‘Cossie World Tour’ event, the real finished RS Cosworth will make appearances at selected rally events across the globe.

Block has also previously not ruled out the prospect of his new Escort undertaking a cameo in his Gymkhana series of videos.

Met Police escort speedboat killer Jack Shepherd back to UK.
Speedboat killer Jack Shepherd is being extradited from Georgia to the UK, where he was convicted in absentia for manslaughter. The 31-year-old vanished while on bail over the manslaughter of Charlotte Brown, who died while the pair were on a champagne-fuelled first date on the River Thames. It is believed his defective speedboat overturned after striking a submerged log in December 2015 - throwing the 24-year-old woman into the icy water. Shepherd spent 10 months on the run, but turned himself in to a police station in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi in January.
