Hatch match: 2020 Volkswagen Golf vs. Ford Focus

Hatch match: 2020 Volkswagen Golf vs. Ford Focus It's an age-old rivalry and with the new Mk8 Golf here, the competition between these two hatchbacks is stronger than everThis was the car that, they say, Volkswagen Group autocrat Ferdinand Piëch ordered back to the drawing board because he didn’t like being able to see the seat adjustment rails in the front footwell. Imagine living with him as your boss. Give me quiet mediocrity any day.

With the optional exhaust, the rear design is almost as controversial as the front.

When a fully fledged M car is still not M enough, you can count on BMW to find a way to add upgrades via its M Performance Parts catalogue. Case in point, the new M3 Saloon and M4 Coupe are already being showcased with a wide array of add-ons on top of the generous equipment list you’d expect from these two range-topping models.

From big screen to reality: First £3.3MILLION Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger replica - with bulletproof shield, revolving number plates and fake machine guns - has been built We've been expecting it, Mr Bondand finally it's here. First of 25 limited-run gadget-laden Aston Martin DB5s, which made its big-screen debut in the 1964, has been reborn in the 21st century. The gadget-laden Aston Martin DB5, which made its big-screen debut driven by 007 star Sir Sean Connery in the 1964 James Bond movie Goldfinger, has been reborn in the 21st century after a gap of more than half a century.

By far the most striking upgrade is the centre-mounted exhaust system we saw on prototypes days before the big debut. Sending out somewhat of a Lexus F vibe, the polarising setup is more than just for show as it also shaves off around five kilograms (11 pounds) compared to the standard setup. It boasts flap control to tweak the sound on the fly and has quad titanium end tips with ceramic coating. BMW says the sound it makes is inspired by race cars and changes depending on the driving mode.

Beyond the look-at-me exhaust, the M Performance Parts tailored to the new M3 and M4 also include an assortment of carbon fibre bits, varying from a front spoiler lip and canards to side skirts and a new diffuser. Customers can also get the boot lid spoiler bathed in carbon fibre or swap it out for an attention-grabbing wing.

Hyundai i10 N Line 2020 UK review

Hyundai i10 N Line 2020 UK review Gets the turbocharged engine the i10 always needed, but styling revisions, performance enhancements and a price it could do withoutThe N Line version offers only the very mildest sprinkling of extra sporting seasoning, then. It's competent and nice to rub along with, but to suggest that it grips, steers or corners in a way that smacks of a junior warm hatchback would be misleading.

There are also several alloy wheel designs to choose from and can be had in sizes of up to 20 inches at the front axle and 21 inches for the rear. There’s even a gold bronze matte option for those eager to get all the attention when driving down the road. Tweaks to the braking system and suspension complete the list of significant changes.

The new M cars have arrived:

  • New BMW M3 Competition Saloon revealed just under £75,000

The interior can be spruced up with carbon fibre accents and Alcantara appointments as well as M-branded floor mats. BMW even offers an indoor car cover and a key wallet, while the door-mounted LED projects show off the M logo and other relevant M Performance avatars.

All of these extras will be available at the market launch of the dynamic duo next March.

Dacia Sandero Stepway Bi-Fuel 2020 review

Dacia Sandero Stepway Bi-Fuel 2020 review Dacia has launched an LPG version of its best-selling car in the UK. It makes the great-value Sandero Stepway Bi-Fuel even more of a money-saverLPG was big news in the early 2000s, until the government killed it by withdrawing the generous grants. Today, Dacia not only prices its cars as if we were back in the early 2000s, it’s also taking inspiration from the retro fuel type of the noughties.

Alpina B3 Touring 2020 UK review .
Buchloe's take on the BMW M340i Touring is a 456bhp, 516lb ft super-estate that melds finesse and ferocity to astonishing effectTake it as read that the 3 Series Touring now feels ideally sized for fast family-car duties. There’s plenty of space inside and you get a real sense of maturity on the move, but the car avoids the occasional awkwardness that comes with driving something as large as the 5 Series Touring – or Alpina’s V8-engined B5 Touring – through towns and along B-roads.
