Avengers assemble: Porsche 718 Boxster S vs Ford Focus RS vs BMW M2

Avengers assemble: Porsche 718 Boxster S vs Ford Focus RS vs BMW M2 ► Focus RS battles it out with the 718 Boxster and M2 ► Three very different, yet very appealing, driver's cars ► Can the high-performance Focus match the heavy-hitters? For us they’re the year’s three sports car superheroes, united to save fun-starved drivers with analogue driving thrills on a plausible budget. Each has a unique talent, but only one will conquer…As a threesome, the BMW M2, third-generation Ford Focus RS and updated Porsche Boxster S with its new 718 designation don’t exactly appear to stand direct comparison.

The GT 3 RS takes a different approach with a high-revving naturally aspirated engine. Both the GT 2 RS and GT 3 RS feature Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) to continuously adjust suspension damping rates, Porsche Stability Management (PSM) to optimize stability control for track

The 991 version of the 911 GT 2 RS was initially unveiled at the Xbox 2017 E3 briefing along with the announcement of the Forza Motorsport 7 video game where it was revealed as cover car “ Exclusive Series Fully upgrade both the BMW M1 and the Porsche 911 GT 2 RS to unlock new Exclusive Series!

A mule for the hotly anticipated Porsche 911 GT2 RS has been spotted testing at the Nürburgring again, but this time the car has gained covers over its GT3 RS wheel arch vents.

The model, which looks set to become the most extreme production 911 yet, still appears to be wearing a mixture of other GT3 and GT3 RS bodywork, while benefiting from a larger rear wing and race-style winglets on the front bumper.

But since it was last sighted in June, the mule's wheel arches have recieved extensive modification. The changes to the latest mule can be seen in the pictures above and immediately below, and the original mule is shown in the bottom image.

Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport let loose on track

Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport let loose on track The progress of modern race cars echoes the words spoken by the mischievous Ferris Bueller to movie-goers in 1986: “Life moves pretty fast.”Porsche’s 15-year-old 996-series 911 GT3 Cup racer was simply a lighter, circuit-only version of the road car. Each subsequent generation quickly introduced more technology, bringing additional costs and headaches for the more casual track day and racing enthusiast. But the new Cayman GT4 Clubsport (CS) is different. It’s a return to more production-based racing cars for the German company. “The plan was to build a track day car positioned under the 911 GT3 Cup as a basis for the sportsman driver,” Porsche told Autocar.

Both Praiano GT Sport Tunes and HammerStudiosGaming have tunes for the beast. I've not used either of their tunes in GT Sport but they both have I have tried searching but can't find it so apologies if this comes across as laziness - it is not! I'm after a set up for the 911 GT 3 RS for the Endurance Race in

Take a Porsche GT 2 RS and do everything to it that hardcore Porsche guys don't like, and this is what you get! The track slayer is now bright pink, slammed

Although these modifications might only be used as part of testing, they suggest the GT2 RS could do away with the GT3 RS's vents and adopt a completely different aerodynamic design.

One thing that hasn't changed since the last sighting is the fitment of a pair of enlarged rear intakes. These have convinced our sources that the car is running the most powerful flat six engine to make production in a Porsche.

The GT3 RS produces 493bhp from its naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat six engine, but we expect the GT2 RS to offer close to 700bhp thanks to forced induction. It will be the hottest 911 model on sale.

Porsche’s latest limited-run 911 models, including the 911 R, have been based on the first generation of the 991-series of the 911. But the earlier sighting of this mule showed it was running second-generation rear lights, which backs up comments made last year by Porsche’s high performance boss, Andreas Preuninger, that the GT2 RS would be based on the second-generation 991 and arrive at the end of the 911’s production life.

This points to a launch date for the GT2 RS in late 2018.

The last Porsche 911 GT2 RS was based on the 997-series model. It offered 611bhp from its twin-turbo flat six engine in a package weighing just 1370kg. It is widely regarded as the most extreme 911 to have gone on general sale.

Porsche 911 Targa 4S (2016) review .
► Targa gets new turbocharged engine ► Flagship S model has more power, 414bhp total ► Looks the part, but it’s not cheap at £99k+ Another new 911? Well, Porsche embarked on a ‘991.2’ update across the core models in the 911 range in 2015, including those controversial new downsized turbocharged engines – and now it’s the flip-top Targa’s turn. Both of the new 3.0-litre turbo lumps are available for the Targa; the regular Targa 4 model gets the base engine with 365bhp, and the top Targa 4S version tested here the full 414bhp monte. You can read more about the regular non-S Targa 4 in Chris Chilton’s review here. The ‘4’ in both models’ names, of course, signifies all-wheel drive – which is currently all the 911 Targa is offered with. Cor. That’s some roof Isn’t it? That glass/fabric/metal lid does some amazing acrobatics as it raises and lowers. Just remember that the glass screen and engine cover combo actually travels beyond the end of the car while the roof’s transforming, so best not to operate it while your parked too close to a wall – or you might not look or feel quite so smart. Slightly frustratingly, you can’t operate the roof unless you’re stationary. A bit annoying if it starts raining, or the lights turn green mid-conversion. What does that new turbocharged engine feel like on the road? Firstly, it doesn’t actually feel particularly turbocharged.
