She added that the film takes place 'a couple of years' after the show ended, 'but no more.' Logan has also wrapped up her scenes, with general filming ending in a few days time.

Matthew Crawley isn't the only character not returning, as Lily James has confirmed she won't be back as Lady Rose MacClare (who is still alive, we think).

The Downton Abbey movie will hit UK cinemas on September 13, 2019.
