Adapted from a mega successful gaming franchise, Gyllenhaal played the lead role of royal fugitive Dastan in the 2010 blockbuster, but his star power couldn't save the project from scathing reviews or claims of whitewashing.

The film currently holds a whimpering 37% on Rotten Tomatoes, and speaking to ET Canada during the Spider-Man: Far From Home press tour, Gyllenhaal revealed that he regrets making the Disney film, calling it one of the biggest missteps of his career.

"I think I learned a lot from that movie in that I spend a lot of time trying to be very thoughtful about the roles that I pick and why I'm picking them," he said.

Man climbs down apartment block to escape fire Spider-Man-style in West Philadelphia.
A daring escape artist channels his inner Spider-Man to escape an apartment block fire, climbing down the high-rise building to safety. The fire department responded to a blaze around 9:30pm on Thursday (local time) in West Philadelphia. Crews were greeted to a harrowing sight when they saw a man descending along the outside of the building to escape. Video footage shows him clinging to balconies and railings as he climbs down a number of floors to ground level, before crews helped him down. CNN affiliate WPVI reported the fire was believed to have been started by a trash compactor. No injuries were reported.
