The TV gods seem to be well aware that summer is over, and the ensuing weeks of downpour will see us start our autumn sofa binge a little earlier than usual this year.

We know this because the launch date for the 10th series of the Great British Bake Off has been announced, and its sooner than we thought.

Here's everything you need to know about the new series, which will hopefully unfold without a soggy bottom in sight.

When will the final be?

The last season ran for 10 weeks, before serving us a show stopping grand final in mid October.

We predict this year will be much the same, but we'll update this page when the date is officially announced.

Is there a trailer for GBBO 2019?

There certainly is, and it's about as mad as one would hope. Think drag queens emerging from tea cups and contestants praying to portraits of Hollywood's face in an attempt to score themselves a wink and a hand shake.

Who are the judges this year?

Us TV viewers aren't always fans of change, so we're thankful Bake Off producers have provided us with a stable and familiar judging line-up this year. Bread maker Hollywood is back with a twinkle in his eye, and Prue Leith is on stand-by with another excellent selection of scarves and necklaces.

Who are the hosts on Bake Off?

Again, no change here, with strange but wonderful pair duo Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding heading back to the tent.

Where and when is Bake Off filmed?

The Great British Bake Off traditionally starts filming in the spring before it airs on TV, leaving the winner of the series shrouded in secrecy until after the final is broadcast. Here's hoping Prue Leith will be a little more careful with her social media scheduling this year.

The series has been filmed in the grounds of Welford Park in Newbury, Berkshire, since 2014.

Who won Bake Off in 2018?
