Red Alert: Game Of Thrones Showrunners Are Getting Their Own Star Wars Series In case you were wondering what was going to fill the void in your heart after Game Of Thrones comes to a close next season, look no further than a galaxy far, far away. Today Walt Disney announced that GoT showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are set to write and produce a brand new series of Star Wars films. The series will be separate from the Luke Skywalker narrative as well as the new Rian Johnson trilogy. Basically, all bets are off. "In the summer of 1977 we traveled to a galaxy far, far away, and we’ve been dreaming of it ever since," Benioff and Weiss said in a joint statement.

The Mandalorian will become available on Disney+ on Tuesday, Nov. 12, which is the same day the streaming service launches in the United States. And this won’t be the only Star Wars series coming to Disney+ : A prequel to the 2016 flick Rogue One is also in the works, starring Diego Luna in his film

The long-awaited first trailer for The Mandalorian, the Star Wars franchise’s upcoming Disney+ series, was unveiled during Disney’s D23 conference Friday. The series arrives on the streaming service on November 12th.

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order,” the series’ synopsis states. “We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

The Mandalorian stars Game of Thrones vet Pedro Pascal as the titular character, as well as Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Werner Herzog, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and the voice of director Taika Waititi.

“Bounty hunting is a complicated profession,” Herzog’s character says, the lone dialogue spoken in the minute-long trailer. “Don’t you agree?”
