The Coronation Street star, 35, has worked in front of the camera for years but will be firmly out of her comfort zone when she has to strut her stuff in front of the nation.

She said: 'The thing I am most nervous about is waiting in those wings and hearing my name. I can’t begin to imagine the nerves.

STRICTLY COME DANCING 2019 contestant Catherine Tyldesley has begun working on her routines for the programme but she has spilled that one of them has Catherine appeared on The One Show today where hosts Matt Baker and Angela Scanlon naturally asked her about Strictly Come Dancing .

She said: 'I am a huge fan of the show. I’ve tried to watch it as much as I can since the first show. But I also can’t dance.

'I went to drama school but I never had the confidence to take part in the dance classes – often I’d avoid them completely.

The rower hit the headlines earlier this year when he took part in the Boat Race, representing Cambridge against Oxford.

The socialite is 16/1 with most bookmakers to win the show.

Emma is joined on Strictly by the TV presenter Karim Zeroual, best known for his work on CBBC.

Karim, who has been a CBBC presenter since 2014, said he cannot wait to be 'Strictlified'.

Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin is another of Strictly's class of 2019. The 34-year-old hosts the weekend afternoon show on the station.

Emma Barton is best-known to audiences as Honey Mitchell in EastEnders and was among the first celebrities unveiled for this year's Strictly.

Comedian Chris Ramsey was also one of the first names to be announced for this year's competition and said he was 'really buzzing' about the opportunity.

On Saturday 7th September at 7:10pm, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman host an exclusive premiere and roll out the red carpet to welcome the celebrity class of 2019.

It was out with the old and in with the new on the Strictly Come Dancing opening weekend, as in addition to the new celebrity stars on the show there was a new face to be found on the judges’ bench. Motsi isn’t the only Mabuse with twinkle toes, however, as her sister Oti is one of the professionals on Strictly, acting as partner to bookies’ favourite Kelvin Fletcher. But any fears of favouritism by the South African dancer were quickly dispelled as she proved her mettle on the judging panel, delighting fans with her ‘sassy’ attitude.

Once the pairings have been announced the celebrities and professionals will take to the dance floor for the very first time in a group performance that will kick off the series.
