  MTV Awards snubs for Ariana Grande as Liam Gallagher crowned Rock Icon Grammy winner Ariana Grande and record-breaking rap star Lil Nas X have been snubbed at the MTV Europe Music Awards, missing out on any gongs despite more than a dozen nominations between them. The American artists were the biggest losers at the annual ceremony, falling short of the likesf of Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and K-pop superstars BTS, who all secured two wins each.It was also a good night for ex-Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, who thanked judges for "recognising my brilliance" after being handed the first ever MTV Rock Icon award.

Nominations for the 62nd annual event will be announced later this month.

Keys hosted the award ceremony last year, and her upcoming repeat appearance makes her the third woman ever to host more than once, the outlet “At first, I did think last year was a one-time thing, but when the opportunity came back around, there was no question about returning as host ,” Keys said

Keys hosted the awards show for the first time in 2019. She will become the third woman and the first female music star to host the show twice. Keys has won 15 Grammy awards and is second only to Paul Simon as the Grammys host with the most trophies.

The 2020 Grammys will be the last to be overseen by longtime producer Ken Ehrlich, with “Late Late Show With James Corden” executive producer Ben Winston set to take over the awards show for its 63rd round.

The 62nd edition of the show will air live on CBS on Jan. 26.

Keys will make Grammy history by becoming the first female recording artist to host the annual music awards show more than once. Back: The Recording Academy announced on Wednesday that Alicia Keys will return as host of the 62nd Grammy Awards in 2020 .

During the 2019 Grammy Awards, Keys sang a medley of songs that she wished she’d written, beginning with Scott Joplin’s “Maple Leaf Rag.” She played on two grand pianos, one black, one white, sitting between them on a stool. “I wanna welcome you to Club Keys,” she said.
