Voyager 2′s journey beyond the solar system reveals new cosmic secrets

Voyager 2′s journey beyond the solar system reveals new cosmic secrets The Voyager 2 spacecraft spent more than four decades surfing the solar wind away from the sun and out into the galaxy. Then, in less than a day, the probe burst from our sun’s protective bubble out into an interstellar sea of alien particles. The exact shape of that bubble—which repels about 70 percent of harmful cosmic radiation—and how the inside mixes (or doesn’t mix) with the outside, are questions that have troubled researchers for decades.

Astronomers Detect Violent Cosmic Explosion Which Is Brightest Source of High-energy Light in the Universe

Astronomers Detect Violent Cosmic Explosion Which Is Brightest Source of High-energy Light in the Universe A typical gamma ray burst lasting seconds or minutes produces about the same energy as our sun does over the course of its entire multi-billion-year lifecycle. This is why GRBs can be detected across such vast distances. The latest GRB event (dubbed GRB 190114C) was detected by two space satellites—the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory and the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope—on January 14, 2019, according to a study published in the journal Nature involving more than 300 scientists from across the globe.

Gillan noted the cast and crew's excitement about Gunn returning to the trilogy, after he was temporarily sacked and then rehired by Disney over some resurfaced tweets. "We’re all really excited that James is back to complete the trilogy because it wouldn’t have felt right without him," she said.

Sugar Has Been Detected Inside Meteorites for the First Time Ever

Sugar Has Been Detected Inside Meteorites for the First Time Ever Sugar  crucial to the evolution of life on Earth have been found in meteor samples for the first time. The discovery adds more weight to the hypothesis a meteor blitz on ancient Earth could have kick-started life by providing the necessary building blocks."Other important building blocks of life have been found in meteorites previously, including amino acids (components of proteins) and nucleobases (components of DNA and RNA), but sugars have been a missing piece among the major building blocks of life," Yoshihiro Furukawa of Tohoku University, Japan, said in a statement.

It's not all about the box office, however. Marvel Studios are now so good at making superhero movies that very few of their releases are anything less than fun and enjoyable – and many have turned out to be classics of the genre. They don't adhere to a rigid template, either. Sure, most Marvel movies mix state-of-the-art action with the quippy brand of dialogue established by Tony Stark in the original Iron Man back in 2007, but some also play around within the superhero genre. Want to watch a space opera? Try Guardians of the Galaxy. A World War 2 adventure? Hunt down Captain America: The First Avenger. A high school movie? Check out Spider-Man: Homecoming. A classic heist tale? Then it’s Ant-Man you're after. And if you simply want to watch one of the funniest movies recent years? Thor: Ragnarok is a comedy in superhero clothing. But the true genius of the MCU is probably the way the movies hang together in a coherent shared universe, with the events of each movie having an impact on the others – a massive 22-movie arc came to a spectacular end in the record-breaking Avengers: Endgame. So as Far From Home wraps up the so-called Phase 3 of the MCU – the new Marvel movies of Phase 4 and beyond remain shrouded in mystery – we embark on a quest more challenging than tracking down the Infinity Stones. Yes, we’ve performed the near-impossible task of ranking the MCU movies (so far) from 23 to 1.
