The girl band, which recently announced it was coming back for a reunion tour, performed together on The X Factor over the weekend.

It was the first time the Dolls appeared on stage for a performance since splitting ten years ago. And while most are thrilled that the band are back together again, some have been a little busy re-watching an old interview of the Girls Aloud group talking about their American rivals.

In the 2006 interview, Cheryl said the Pussycat Dolls are not a proper group as it's just a frontwoman surrounded by incredible backing dancers.

She explained: "You never get a chance to hear any one else so you just assume she is [the vocal talent].

"Apart from that girl that really annoys me that goes 'meeeh' all the time. You never really hear anybody else..."

While Cheryl, who was recently accused of crying her eyes out after claims that the Girls Aloud stars were ganging up on Nadine Coyle, may think Nicole is nothing special, she admitted that the backing dancers are incredible.

Speaking about Carmit Bachar, 45, Ashley Roberts, 38, Jessica Suta, 37, and 37 year old Kimberly Wyatt, Cheryl said: "When you've got dancers like that, the performances are just like wow, it's like breathtaking."

Her fellow bandmate Nicole Roberts then offered her two cents on the subject, explaining she'd "like to hear them all sing," before Cheryl interjected, saying: "I don't think they can, I think they are more dancers."

When asked if Nicole would make a successful solo artist, Cheryl was quick to slam Nicole as not good enough: "I don't know if she could [go solo].

"You're up against so many fantastic solo artist out there -– Beyonce , Christina, Britney, can you keep up with that?... I don't think she stands out at all."

While Cheryl might not think too highly of the American singer, X Factor: Celebrity star Thom Evans certainly does as he recently addressed rumours that he's dating the show judge after he branded her "stunning and amazing".

The former rugby player, who is part of boyband Try Star alongside Ben Foden and Levi Davis, broke his silence on romance rumours as he appeared on Loose Women earlier this month.

Speaking to panelists Christine Lampard, Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore, the 34-year-old became embarrassed while being quizzed on the stunning TV star.

“Look, Nicole is lovely and I think I’m concentrating on the bromance right now. I just want to get to the final,” he said while giggling and being teased by his fellow boyband stars.

He was then quizzed on the possibility of a romance happening after the show ends.

“I mean, who wouldn’t want to date Nicole? She’s lovely,” he gushed.
