Volkswagen Golf 2020 video review

Volkswagen Golf 2020 video review We drive the 8th-generation Golf to find out if it can remain the family hatchback kingBut it’s also the end of an era. Volkswagen now sees its future in the pure-electric ID 3, meaning that although the new Golf will be the brand’s sales powerhouse for several years to come, as a concept it exists on borrowed time (not to sound overly dramatic). Still, we’d expect this one to once again compete for class honours against not only its usual rivals from Audi, Ford and Renault but now also BMW, whose new front-wheel-drive 1-Series has impressed.

Big Night Out is a reimagining of the original Vic Reeves Big Night Out , which was a seminal force in British comedy In this series Vic & Bob introduce us to new characters as well as reuniting us with some old the best of the legendary comic duo, who show no signs of slowing down or growing up .

Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out, BBC4, 10pm ★★

Is there ever any point in returning to the scene of past glories? That’s the question that continues to haunt this revival of Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer’s cult comedy show Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out.

Sure Reeves and Mortimer are clearly having fun and the on-screen audience laugh in all the right places but watching at home can feel like a curiously removed affair.

In part that’s because it’s hard to shake the feeling that both men, so good elsewhere, whether discussing art or fishing, are treading water here, a sense that they know both material and tone almost too well.

Volkswagen Golf 2020 video review

Volkswagen Golf 2020 video review Volkswagen says the new Mk8 Golf is the most sophisticated Golf there’s ever been, and given it features an almost entirely digital cockpit, uses never-before-seen hybrid engines and boasts a raft of driver-assistance system, who are we to disagree? But it’s also the end of an era. Volkswagen now sees its future in the pure-electric ID3, meaning that although the new Golf will be the brand’s sales powerhouse for several years to come, as a concept it exists on borrowed time (not to sound overly dramatic). Still, we’d expect this one to once again compete for class honours against not only its usual rivals from Audi, Ford and Renault but now also BMW, whose new front-wheel-drive 1-Series has impressed. When the Mk8 Golf arrives in Spring 2020, will it still be the hatchback to have? We drove a pre-production model in Portugal to learn more. Comedy . Vic & Bob ' s Big Night Out . Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer provide songs, sketches and silliness in buckets.

Share this Rating. Title: Vic and Bob ' s Big Night Out (2018–2019). 8/10. Hugely influential, surreal and anarchic parody of the variety show format . Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer introduce a The pair's follow- up to The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, this BBC comedy sketch show features more

Tonight’s opening sketch set a wonderfully surreal tone with a song about the Rolling Stones as literal sea gods, heading to battle weapons in hand, and there was a welcome return to one of the original show’s biggest hits, Novelty Island in addition to a bizarre yet entertaining homage to Michael Portillo, and in particular his colourful dress sense.

Yet for all that, and despite an everything but the kitchen sink finale featuring Queen’s A Kind of Magic, bells and slices of bacon (yes, really), this still feels like a show not quite firing on all cylinders.

The Nurburgring record-breaking Megane RS Trophy-R stands a better chance than mostThe 2019 Cayman GT4 picks up where the old GT4 left-off, with a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat six engine rather than the four-cylinder turbo of standard Caymans.

Reeves and Mortimer are clearly giving their all – and the modern-day Morecambe and Wise tag still stands – but I can’t help but wish they’d put their brilliant minds to something fresh rather than rehashing old ground.

Gallery: The 23 best TV reboots of all time (Best Life)

a man and a woman standing on a stage: People are always talking about the drought of creativity in Hollywood these days. Every production seems to be a sequel, an adaptation, a spinoff, or a reboot (the type that's lambasted the most). The reboot, naysayers say, is a craven capitalization on nostalgia meant to bring in the big bucks—and quality is an afterthought. (Exhibit A: Fuller House, whose first season has a dismal 35 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.) Well, not all reboots are quite so soulless and stale. In fact, some are veritable level-ups, tapping into just the right amount of nostalgia while bringing a fresh new perspective to the table. These 23 TV reboots are the cream of the crop. 2020 Porsche 911 Speedster video review: the best convertible Porsche ever? .
The 2020 Porsche 911 Speedster is what you get if you imagine a Porsche 911 GT3 without a roof. With a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated engine, a six-speed manual gearbox, and GT-department suspension the Speedster is the last of the line for the 991-generation 911. It's incredibly focused to drive and engaging, like the best Porsches, on road or the track. New videos are uploaded to Autocar each week. Don't miss a single one.
