Alan Carr has dashed any speculation that he will take part on Strictly Come Dancing after revealing he turns it down "every year".

The comedian is appearing on The Graham Norton Show on Friday night (14 February) alongside Strictly dancer Oti Mabuse, during which he admits that starring on the BBC One is "too much like hard work".

Alan then goes on to show off his moves with the audience, while Oti judges their talents. The professional dancer won the competition last year with former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher.

Oti is also Dance Captain on BBC One's The Greatest Dancer, and speaking about her role, the star said: "I am the nice person. To critique someone on something they have worked so hard for is very difficult."

The 29-year-old dancer also admitted it was challenging to disappoint children competing on the show, affirming: "That is the hardest part. I'm always in bits."

Strictly might be many months away, but it's already being rumoured that Made in Chelsea's Jamie Laing will return after pulling out of the series last year when he sustained a foot injury.

Head Judge Shirley Ballas is believed to be returning to the judging panel alongside Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli.

The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC One.
