  'Great British Bake Off' 2020 future still uncertain amid coronavirus safety concerns The Great British Bake Off's 2020 series remains uncertain due to safety fears stemming from the coronavirus pandemic. Filming typically takes place in spring for the show to begin airing toward the end of summer but was delayed this year. Now, a spokesperson has said they are still trying to bring the show to screens. “We are working hard to deliver Bake Off to the audience this year, the priority is the safety of everyone involved in the production of the series,” a rep from production company Love Productions told The Sun.

Taskmaster's eagerly-anticipated tenth series kicks off this autumn but perhaps the biggest task of the new series has been moving channels.

The comedy challenge show, which sees five comedians compete against each other in a series of outlandish weekly tasks set by hosts Greg Davies and Alex Horne to be crowned the ultimate taskmaster, has a new home on Channel 4 this year having previously aired on UKTV channel Dave.

Look at Me. Channel 4 is yet to renew Dead Pixels for Series 2. Taskmaster has been renewed for series 8 and 9, it was announced at the end of series 5 that it would be renewed for 4 more series at least.

But fans need not worry about the change as Greg and Alex have confirmed to Digital Spy that the show won't look any different at its new home.

Speaking to us after the 2020 Virgin Media Television BAFTAs, which were held remotely for the first time, the pair joked that they'd switched up the hosting line-up because Alex was 'distracting'.

"I'm not in it anymore unfortunately but I'm fine with that because I think I've done my bit!" Alex said, before Greg joked, "I just found him a distraction. He keeps bringing his dog onto set, that sort of thing, so he had to go."

Joking aside, the pair promised that the show hasn't changed at all and that Channel 4 gave the production team the freedom to continue doing what we know and love.

"No there won't be many changes," Greg said. "I believe Alex promised that, when we made the decision that we would go to another channel, is it's the same show. Obviously COVID has had a bit of an impact on the way we filmed this most recent series but the show remains the show."

Alex added, "To give Channel 4 credit they haven't asked us to do anything... they said 'that's the show we want, just go off and make it', so we've had a lovely time. We've just wrapped on Series 10 and it's out in October. So it's a lovely sort of launch pad, off we go again."

"Series 10 was lots and lots of fun, so we're really excited to get going again," Greg said.

The pair added that we may see a couple of necessary changes on-screen which were caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but thankfully most of the latest run had already been filmed before the lockdown hit.

"We managed to do it in a studio," Alex confirmed. "There's a lot of measures as I'm sure you can imagine but we luckily filmed 99% of the tasks before the pandemic really, so we're in a lucky position that we managed to get it all in the can before."

The Series 10 line-up of contestants was confirmed earlier this week as Daisy May Cooper, Johnny Vegas, Katherine Parkinson, Mawaan Rizwan and Richard Herring, with Alex teasing that "all five bring something to it".

Taskmaster picked up the award for Comedy Entertainment Programme at the Virgin Media Television BAFTAs on Friday (July 31), so you can officially expect award-winning entertainment when the show returns.

The 2020 British Academy Television Awards aired on Friday (July 31) at 7pm on BBC One, hosted by Richard Ayoade.
