Entertainment Emmerdale's Belle cuts ties with her family in row over Jamie

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale star Eden Taylor-Draper has revealed that Belle Dingle will turn her back on her family next week.

Belle decides to move out of the Dingles' home as she chooses to stay loyal to her boyfriend Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln), who's facing a backlash from the rest of the family.

While Nicola Wheeler is on maternity leave, her character has been temporarily written out of the soap in a storyline that has seen her heading to Dubai for a new job.

Next week's episodes see Belle's older brother Cain (Jeff Hordley) return from his trip and demand to know why she has reunited with Jamie.

Cain isn't pleased that Belle is giving a second chance to a Tate. Belle feels unable to be honest about her decision-making, knowing that she still can't reveal the truth about Moira's hit and run.

Later, Cain's son Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) continues his own feud with Jamie by smashing his car wing mirror.

Belle continues to defend Jamie – even with Cain watching on closely – but there's a sense that she's alienating herself from the rest of the family.

Is Jamie Tate in trouble?

The 35-year-old former Emmerdale star revealed she went under the knife three weeks ago and admits she already feels more confident. As she discussed her work with her surgeon on the show, Adele could not contain her excitement over her renewed look.

The atmosphere grows even more bitter when Jamie overhears Sam (James Hooton) bad-mouthing him. He responds by firing Sam from his duties at Home Farm.

Sam seeks help from Belle to change Jamie's mind, but she leaves him stunned by siding with her boyfriend instead.

Soon afterwards, Belle arrives home to collect her things, announcing that she's moving out and will be living with Jamie from now on.

Speaking about the emotional scenes ahead, Eden explained: "When Nate kicks Jamie's car wing mirror in, Jamie retaliates by verbally slinging mud at Nate.

"Instead of protecting her family, Belle protects Jamie. That's when Cain says: 'You don't get to have both. You're done with us now'. Belle thinks: 'Wow, this could be the end of my entire relationship with my family'.

"Being a Dingle, the main thing is that you are loyal to your family, so Belle is really going against everything here."

Asked why Belle later packs her bags, Eden replied: "An argument kicks off between Sam and Jamie. Sam does put his foot in it and riles Jamie up, so Jamie just turns around and says: 'You're done, you're fired'.

Speaking at an Emmerdale press event last year, the blonde said: 'I don't think Kim would be leaving it like that, do you? 'Kim has got her work cut out with the Dingles now. There are some tough women in that family . I wonder whether she'd have respect for Charity, because she sees a bit of herself in her.

"After what Belle says to defend Jamie, she knows she can't go back home after that. She makes the decision: 'I don't care that you are my family, I'm with this man'.

"It's kind of a no-brainer after Jamie suggests she moves in. And where else can she go? It's not like she has anywhere else to go. So yes, she goes home and packs her bags, it all kicks off again and she is out of there.

"It is sad. When I was filming it, I was thinking: 'Oh my God, I feel horrible!' And the scene with Jim [James Hooton] where Alex [Jamie] was firing him, I could have cried because that is Sam – he never does anything wrong – so yeah, it is sad for Belle to go on this journey."

Emmerdale currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV.
