Emmerdale's Dawn Taylor is in for a shock next week as the police come looking for her.

Dawn (Olivia Bromley) is forced to face the music after an incident involving village newcomer Meena.

Show bosses have announced that Meena – who's the sister of established character Manpreet Sharma – will be a new love interest for Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle).

This immediately puts Dawn at odds with Meena and ultimately causes a confrontation that leaves Dawn worried in the aftermath.

Next week, Dawn faces more heartbreak when Billy comes to see her again.

Billy is still struggling to accept that their relationship is over and tells Dawn that he's still in love with her.

As Billy demands to know why they can't get back to the way things were, Dawn fights back tears. Deep down, she wants to reunite with Billy but still believes that he's better off without her after DI Malone's murder.

Soon afterwards, Dawn is wrong-footed when the police come looking for her.

While it's a relief for Dawn as she realises this is nothing to do with Malone, she still could be facing serious trouble as she's arrested on suspicion of assaulting Meena.

Emmerdale bosses recently announced that Paige Sandhu will be playing the role of Meena.

Meena makes her first appearance in Thursday night's double bill (September 24) and future episodes will explore her troubled backstory with Manpreet.
