Find out if they're overdone. With the nights drawing in, our thoughts have turned to warm bread. So we thought we'd take a look back at a who's who of Bake Off winners, and a little on what they've been up to since their big moment.
The Great British Bake Off has finally returned to TV screens after filming was put on hold due to coronavirus.
Great British Bake Off will be DELAYED to make way for Boris Johnson
The delay has sparked fury among fans with one tweeting: 'If Boris's announcement forces #GBBO to be delayed it will be the end of him'.The first episode of the 11th series of the Channel 4 show was scheduled to air at 8pm, but will now be delayed until 8:15pm to allow the channel to air Prime Minister Boris Johnson's address to the nation.
However, Tuesday night's debut episode was hit with an outpouring of complaints as a number of viewers wrote to Ofcom.
Not only were fans left cross about the Channel 4 show being pushed back by 15 minutes as the Prime Minister addressed the nation, but also over new host Matt Lucas' Boris Johnson parody at the start of the show,.
TV watchdog Ofcom confirmed it has received more than 200 complaints about the show, with the majority of them referring to the PM comedy sketch.
In the sketch - which you can watch above - Little Britain star and new GBBO host, Matt Lucas, kicked off the new series by delivering a speech while dressed up as the Prime Minister.
The 46-year-old stood in front of a podium, which read: "Stay Alert, Bake Cake, Save Loaves", while judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood stood either side of him.
"Good evening, let's get straight to it." He told viewers.
"We are now approaching phase 46 which means that from Tuesday morning or Wednesday evening, depending on your height, we are saying, with regards to baking, that if you must bake in a tent, bake in a tent, but please don’t bake in a tent…"
Great British Bake Off returns with Louis Theroux innuendo
He quipped: "We are asking people to use common sense with regards to the distribution of the hundreds and thousands."
But while many fans watching from home took to social media to praise the show, it clearly hit a nerve with others.
"BEST. SERIES OPENING. EVER," one simply praised.
Another said: "I think Matt Lucas has just absolutely made 2020."
"In an incredible turn of events, #bakeoff @BritishBakeOff opened with matt lucas as bojo and I've fallen even more in love with the show and @Channel4," added a third.
A fourth also said: "That opening for #GBBO by #mattlucas was so hilariously perfect. Been waiting for #BakeOff all day and it's started fabulously."
But it wasn't all positive.
"Dear God, #BakeOff, what were you thinking? Can't you imagine how anyone with family or friends suffering from Covid must feel looking at that insensitive opening?" wrote one.
Another said: "Simply not funny this time around and poor taste #switchingoff."
