The Shazam! spin-off isn't set to go into production this year, but the roster of heroes and villains is gradually building.

According to The Wrap, Hodge is currently in talks to play the original 1940 incarnation of Hawkman. In the DC comics, this version of the character is the alter-ego of archaeologist Carter Hall, who discovers he's the reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian prince who was cursed and killed by an evil priest.

Johnson started training for the role back in January this year and previously said his "superhero dreams have come true".

The movie, which will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, also stars To All the Boys I've Loved Before's Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, AKA Albert Rothstein, who is known for his power of super strength and growth.

Black Adam is set for release on December 22, 2021.
