If there's one thing we all know about death in the Star Wars universe it's that it isn't final — after all, Force ghosts are as important to the universe as the living Jedi. But there's another less oft-discussed tenet about life and death in Star Wars is this: if you want to kill someone, don't throw them down a pit.

Little Mix to team up with Sigala and MNEK Sigala has revealed he, Little Mix and MNEK are to team up for a writing session in the near future to come up with a new tune.Sigala has confirmed he is to team up with the girl band - who are made up of Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson - and the 25-year-old singer in the near future to try to pen a new track.

From Palpatine to Luke to Darth Maul, Star Wars is full of people who haven't died from their seemingly fatal falls. It's become a joke of sorts, so when The Rise of Skywalker saw Palpatine throw a newly redeemed Ben Solo into a pit, his return wasn't exactly a surprise.

However, Ben Solo's ability to not die from a fall wasn't only foreshadowed by previous Star Wars lore, it was actually already cemented in his training. We know this thanks to the comic Star Wars: Age of Resistance - Supreme Leader Snoke, and its ramifications are broader than just a continuation of a joke.

The comic shows Snoke training Kylo Ren. In one particularly prescient scene in the Ralech system, Snoke force-levitates Kylo Ren and asks him "Are you afraid?" as he holds him, dangling over the pit.

Machine Gun Kelly and YUNGBLUD have three new songs on the way Machine Gun Kelly and YUNGBLUD are set to release three new tracks together, including one with The Used's Bert McCracken. The 'Rap Devil' star and the 'Strawberry Lipstick' rocker have recorded a bunch of tracks to follow-up 2019's 'I Think I'm OKAY' from the former's LP 'Hotel Diablo'.

He goes on to say he can tell Kylo Ren is afraid and that it's a good thing, as men who are afraid often turn to anger. He instructs Kylo Ren to use that anger, and then he lets him fall.

Kylo stops himself short of hitting the jagged bottom and uses the Force to propel himself back to Snoke. Thus, this portion of Kylo Ren's training is over — he has learned specifically how to not die from being thrown into a pit.

This begs the question, why would Palpatine choose to throw Kylo Ren into a pit as a means of killing him? He of all people should know that Kylo would survive.

He would know because Snoke was a Palpatine sock puppet, after all. And though Snoke surely had some individual will of his own (after all, Palpatine's cloned son certainly did) he would most likely report back to Palpatine.

Even if not, even if Snoke was operating under the misguided assumption that he was actually a real individual, Palpatine is clearly the puppet master of, well, everything. For him to somehow not know that one of the key stages of training Kylo was 'survive fatal fall into a pit' would be a giant oversight.

Sure, we all make mistakes, and Palpatine made a few (like, why tell Rey that killing him would fulfil his plan, why not just let her murder him and succeed?) but this seems like one oversight too far.
