has cornered the market in romcoms and Christmas movies, so it was only a matter of time before the streaming giant tackled family-friendly Halloween offerings.
does just that and it proves to be a spooky and fun horror treat for the family that's safe for the little ones, with 's Tom Felton stealing the show as the Grand Guignol.
Favourite TV shows that are actually reboots
“If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” is decidedly not the motto that fuels the Hollywood machine. Recent times have seen overpaid studio executives follow the dollar trail deep into the heart of nostalgia, a place where there’s no such thing as a TV show that can’t be completely—and often unnecessarily—rebooted. As with any creative endeavour, some results have fallen flat while others have inserted fresh updates. Here are 20 popular shows that you may not have even known are new takes on old classics.
Based on a trilogy of books by Joe Ballarini, it's no surprise that the movie sets up a sequel and if it's a Halloween hit for Netflix, there's every chance we could get another outing for the secret society of babysitters who protect children from monsters.
They could be facing their deadliest threat yet though in the sequel, but to explain how A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting sets up a sequel, we have to go into some major spoilers.
A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting ending explained
Based on thein Ballarini's trilogy, the first movie sees Kelly Ferguson (Tamara Smart) have to team up Liz Lerue (Oona Laurence) and the International Order of Babysitters to rescue Jacob (Ian Ho) from the Grand Guignol.
Harry Potter's Tom Felton is unrecognisable in new look at upcoming Netflix movie
Martin (Mads Mikkelsen) and three of his friends, all weary high school teachers, embark on a risky experiment to maintain a constant level of intoxication throughout the workday.
One of seven Boogeypeople, the Grand Guignol wants to use Jacob's Gift of Dreams – which means he can bring his dreams (or nightmares) to life – to unleash an army of monsters on the world.
Kelly had an encounter with the Grand Guignol when she was younger as she also has the Gift of Dreams, but a combination of her babysitter and the use of a weapon called Angel Fire stopped the Grand Guignol from taking her.
Since it's a family movie, it won't be a surprise to say the Grand Guignol doesn't succeed in his plan, despite getting Jacob to create an army of monsters after putting him to sleep with a Cat's Eye amulet.
Kelly uses the Angel Fire to deliver a Monster Punch on the Grand Guignol and he's defeated, seemingly killed for good as his body disappears. They rescue Jacob and get him back in bed before his mum returns at midnight.
Liz tells Kelly that she'll ask for Kelly to be allowed to apply to the Order, but warns her that their actions tonight could mean Kelly has "upset the monster underworld" by killing the Grand Guignol.
Black History Month: Here's What To Stream On Netflix
Netflix has marked Black History Month with a collection celebrating Black British voices both on- and off-screen.October marks Black History Month in the United Kingdom and to celebrate this year, Netflix has curated a special collection of films and TV shows that acknowledge the Black British experience. Called Black British Stories, the series honours ‘Black British voices behind and in front of the screen, characters old and new, and stories that have influenced an industry.
And Kelly could especially find herself in the target of Serena the Spider Queen, who is the Queen of the Boogeypeople and the Grand Guignol's sister.
We don't see her in the movie beyond an illustration, but we learn a lot about her in the final scene as Kelly reads from the Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting about her potential new enemy:
"The most beautiful and charming of all seven Boogies. Great fashion sense. Her fangs eject a deadly venom that can bewitch, paralyse or kill her prey, depending on her mood. Weaknesses. Giant ego. Flattery. Jewelry. She's as fast as she is lethal."
Kelly's battle with the Spider Queen forms part of thein Ballarini's trilogy as the Spider Queen turns Kelly's parents, best friend and teachers into mindless minions.
It's likely a movie sequel would follow the same story and there's an added mystery from the first movie to conclude as well. Liz's brother Kevin was taken by the Grand Guignol when he was five years old and Kelly tells her they're "gonna get Kevin back too".

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame icon Stevie Nicks performs fan favorites and rare gems in this epic concert film recorded from her sold-out 24 Karat Gold Tour.
Sounds like Kelly and the babysitters have a lot on their plates if we see them back in a sequel.
A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting 2 release date
Netflix has yet to confirm if there will be a sequel, but if it does, we can expect it sooner rather than later.
There's usually a maximum of two years between movies when Netflix original movies get a sequel, but any potential production on the sequel could be affected by the current global situation.
The first movie started production in September 2019 and was released on Netflix just over a year later. We'd imagine Netflix would want to stick to a Halloween release, so it could well be October 2021, but if that's not possible, then we might have to wait until 2022.
This is all speculation on our part for now until Netflix confirms a sequel though.
A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting 2 cast
The only guaranteed returns for the sequel would be Tamara Smart as Kelly Ferguson and Oona Laurence as Liz Lerue.
We'll likely see more of the babysitters back, including Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson's Berna and Ty Consiglio's Curtis, and maybe because of his Gift of Dreams, there could be a return for Ian Ho as Jacob.
However, Tom Felton's Grand Guignol is probably dead and is unlikely to return, unless his sister Serena can bring back dead Boogeypeople too. Don't rule it out if he proves a hit with fans.
